Still my favourite... August 12, 2006 I was the former webmaster and a buddy of Darren, I may be a little impartial, but Darren and I are from the same town, and I loved his music the second I heard it.
Heavy guitar riffs, synth to fill the voids...
It's almost all these horrible nu-metal acts that have come out in the past years have used bands like KLANK and Fear Factory as their main influences. Too bad they don't have the talent they do, eh?
great music terrible lyrics October 16, 2004 5 out of 34 found this review helpful
This is NOT a Christian CD- there is no hope and is only filled with hate filled lyrics- not a sliver of Christ! Believe me I wanted to find the hope- the music is amazing.
Example: "Hate pulses straight through my vains Every time I hear your name... Forgiveness has been denied You have left me scarified" (from the song "Scarified")
Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
One of the best industrial cd's, mainstream or Christian October 12, 2004 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have loved this guys music since I was 14. That's about 7 years. This was my favorite industrial cd for over 5 of those years, being beaten only by Circle of Dust's cd Brainchild and NIN's live album "And all that could have been." The only reason that it doesn't beat Circle of Dust is because Circle of Dust is rather unpredictable, whereas kLanK have songs that most often have vs/chorus/vs/chorus/bridge/chorus patterns (however, Klank is still without a doubt one of the best and the heaviest). The only reason that NIN's album would be better is because it is essentially a best of album, withmany of the songs being performed better live that on studio recordings.
Final analysis: It's a must have for industrialists fans!!!
Awesome Voice And Guitar August 8, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Klank (formerly the guitarest for live shows for Circle Of Dust.) Has made a awesome debute with this album. This being his first CD he has combined machine-gun guitar with his low, but melodic voice. His words come pounding out of the song right in your face. Although this CD was put out on a Christian label, there is no "Jesus loves me this I know" stuff in here--Pure industrial-heavy metal at it's best. I have talked to kLank a couple times on AOL messenger a while ago and he sets his goals very high for his fans-and for himself. I LOVED this CD and I love the voice samples he has in his songs-some from Hellraiser and 12 Monkeys put together in a VERY artfull way. I also highly recommend his second album: NUMB. Another triumph by kLaNk. I also have the LP of this CD also put out by Tooth & Nail if you like this CD try looking for that too.
Great CD for venting April 30, 2003 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
There's a simple qualifying factor to liking this CD. Ask yourself, "have I ever been betrayed?" If yes, this CD is for you. Darren, coming from Circle of Dust, doesn't surprise us with some strange new sound, but instead sticks to the industrial sound we love. Though similar, Klank definitly has a sound of their own. With harder guitars that drive the songs, to rougher vocals, Klank brings a message of survival through suffering. Keep in mind this CD is not for everyone. Those living in the Christian mindset of, "life is peachy and we shouldn't dwell on anything bad," will definitly be put off by this album. With that said, this CD is great. A must for any hardcore fan. Only frustrating thing about Klank is the spiritual vagueness as to what they believe. I mean, if you're a Christian, don't be ashamed to say it. I'll continue to listen though. If anything, they make you think.
