Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
UK pressing of the debut album from the former American Idol contestant turned Pop/Rock superstar features one bonus track: 'Breakdown' (Live). Chris Here are a dozen songs that'll flick your Rock 'N' Roll switch, whether you're a Creed fan, a club kid, or a mambo king: 'Used To' and 'Over You', a couple of early tracks, ought to arrive bundled with a road map they're so highway sing-along-ready, and 'Feels Like Tonight' screws the lid on the premise that Daughtry can deliver a punchy pop-rock song without flinching. Elsewhere, the North Carolina family man lets his inner (and outer, actually) goatee- and eyeliner-type guy rip: his built-for-the-hard-stuff voice bites down appealingly on 'Breakdown', a dark serenade to mental health, and also on 'What I Want', an '80s-style fist-pumper featuring Slash. The loud mad dash of those songs leads to a midtempo wind-down ('All These Lives', 'What About Now'), but as a mix, it works. Epic.

5 out of 5 stars Disappointed? Not at all   August 8, 2008

When I heard Fuel was interested in having Chris as their lead singer, I had to find out why. Now I know. The person who called Daughtry's album an amazing disappointment should write an album's worth of music and then we can hear if that's worth 4 or 5 million in sales figures. Please. Put your money where your mouth is and let's hear YOUR stuff. I've been a music collector practically my whole life, and I take any armchair critic's claim of someone not having any talent with many MANY grains of salt. Daughtry's managed to land an opening spot on a Bon Jovi tour, and you don't get THERE with no talent at all.

5 out of 5 stars Deluxe Edition Daughtry - Works for Me   September 17, 2008

Let's not start the Daughtry bashing and call it a review! If you don't like Daughtry then why are you even looking at this item let alone writing a review? Several million people like Daughtry and there's nothing wrong with that, even if the critics and "real" rockers think he's a faker. I would have preferred a grittier and harder collection of songs myself but I recognize this is what he had to put out at this point in his career and, gosh darn it, I like it! (I think he has a little harder stuff in him and I hope we'll all see that on the next CD). I've had the the original release since day one and just bought this re-release because I'm a fan. Honestly, there's not really anything in here that I couldn't live without but hey, it's worth my $14 for the live videos (the Foreigner song doesn't do a lot for me since I'm old enough to know the original). The "There and Back Again" video is my favorite. If you don't already have the CD, spend a couple extra bucks and get this re-release instead. And if you already have it, it won't hurt you to pick this one up too. It's worth it.

5 out of 5 stars True Talent   September 17, 2008

I've been to hundreds of concerts, purchased thousands of CDs and watched countless hours of music videos. I've been a music fan my whole life...and of all of the CDs I own, of all of the concerts I've been to, I can't get enough of DAUGHTRY. I never tire of hearing their music, live, CD, acoustic or otherwise. I work out to it, clean my house to it, drive to it...it's addictive! This band by far has been my favorite in over a decade...I can't wait for the new album to come out! As a true fan, of course I would purchase a deluxe edition. I'm a DAUGHTRY junkie!

5 out of 5 stars WORTH EVERY PENNY!   September 19, 2008

OMG! I am soooo happy that Daughtry decided to release the deluxe album with all the extras!!! The four additional tracks on the CD are worth it alone! OMG! Their cover of Feels Like the First Time is incredible! I can't help but crank it several times a day. It is so uplifing and happy it makes me smile from ear to ear. The acoustic songs really showcase Chris' amazing voice! And the DVD is awesome!!! I don't spend much time watching t.v. much less Music Video channels so to have all of their videos on one DVD is awesome! And the two live versions from Red Rock are amazing! But the best part for me is the interview where you can see these incredibly talented 5 guys being themselves and see how down to earth they really are, and how much they appreciate their fans! Rock on Daughtry!
