The original versions are much better May 31, 1999 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
This album is terrible. The original songs are much better. The only song that even sounds any good remixed is Please Don't Go. But the original version of that is much better too. I would recommend The Best Of KC & The Sunshine Band instead. That is much better since it isn't all a bunch of cheap remixes.
Isn't it strange.... September 25, 2005 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
that the 2 lowest(one star) reviews contradict each other. One thinks the cd is bad because the remixes ruin the originals, while the other thinks the remixes are bad because they sound too much like the originals! I personally like this remix cd cause I have their hits cd, but wouldn't mind having a 'new' take on these dance classics. Most of the songs sound EXACTLY like their original counterparts, just a little edited so the dj can produce some 'new' music to blend the songs together. Some songs aren't really affected except at the beginning and the end, while a few have a different beat or music to it DURING the actual song. Still, the essence of the originals are basically there and recognizable, which is why I really like this.
I must say, I HATE remixes that just ruin the original by making it completely unrecognizable or undanceable. That's why I prefer extended mixes, but this remix cd(it's silly to call this a dance remix since these were already great dance songs to begin with) stays faithful to the originals. My major problem with the cd is that the songs don't always segway into each other smoothly. For a continuoue mix cd, the songs don't flow into each very well in some instances(some of the songs awkwardly transition into the next which disrupts the catchy dance grooves). Also, I have a minor problem with the great mix for "Please Don't Go" which, at 3 minutes, is just waaaaay too short. Those are my two personal drawbacks in an otherwise good release. If you're a die-hard fan, this cd isn't really essential(though still recommended). But for casual fans who want slight remixes that retain the sound of the originals, highly recommended.
KC...with a funky 90's Dance Flavor January 10, 2002 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Those who grew up with KC know that is music will never go out of stlye. You can go to any club..throw on KC..and they place will be rocking. This is a fantastic cd. The producer did a very good job mixing KC..without losing the content of the original recordings. I happened to stuble on the cd in a record store. Many of you have probably stumbled on it and said...KC dance remix...yeah right! But let me tell you..this cd rocks!!!!! As a mattter of fact, I was playing this cd on my way home from work, and a guy in a car driving next to me rolled his window down and asked me where did I get this cd. I was trying to put together a workout tape. This cd will be on both side of one tape. Get it..you won't be disappointed. Do you wanna go Party!!
A touch of a 90 dance flavor mix with the old. June 25, 1999 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
These days artists are sampling music from the early 70s/80s. This is a good collection of the band's greatest hits remixed with the 90's touch. It's a non-stop dance CD...great for getting ready to hit the club scene. The only discouraging thing about the CD...the songs are very short...even though the CD jacket states six or more minutes per song. A great buy!

If you like KC and the Sunshine Band, this album will absolutely blow you away. The remixing adds an entirely new dimension to the music. It still has all the rythym and the power, but it gains depth, becomes almost psychedelic. I have to keep myself from listening to this thing over and over, because I don't want to tire of it.
