5 out of 5 stars Don't Know How I Missed It Earlier . . .   March 20, 2001

I was shopping for CDs a few nights ago and this one caught my eye. I have no clue why I didn't buy it when it first came out! This CD is a collection of some of the biggest dance anthems ever.

1) Haddaway "What Is Love" - Some people bought the CD for this one song. This is the song that originally made the Roxbury guys famous (Or maybe the other way around). You cannot go wrong!

2) Bamboo "Bamboogie" - This is actually a KC & The Sunshine Band song that was reworked and renamed. It actually sounds pretty good, and fits the album well.

3) Robi Rob's Club World "Make That Money" - The first time you listen to this, you'll say "What the heck?" It grows on you really fast though, and it's actually one of my faves on the CD.

4) Cyndi Lauper "Disco Inferno" - Although you would think this would sound out of place, it doesn't. The mixing on this song sounds great, and it's a perfect re-current song to add.

5) N-Trance "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" - This is the ultimate low point of the album. This song is horrible. But you can always skip it! :)

6) 3rd Party "Pop Musik" - I don't really have an opinion one way or another on this song.

7) Faithless "Insomnia" - Same as Pop Musik.

8) La Bouche "Be My Lover" - One of the best dance songs ever! This was a great choice for the album, and you'll keep it on repeat for awhile!

9) Amber "This Is Your Night" - This is my favorite song on the album. I love Amber because all of her songs sound so different yet follow the same genre. This song is no exception. You'll find yourself repeating this one too!

10) Ace Of Base "Beautiful Life" - Yet another club classic! This, in my opinion, is Ace Of Base's best song and it's great they included this. This song is a sure way to get your party started.

11) No Mercy "Where Do You Go" - I love this song as well. It gets annoying after awhile, but the first few times you play it you'll love it.

12) Jocelyn Enriquez "A Little Bit Of Ecstacy" - Another major highlight of the CD. The song sounds kind of weird on this CD, but it is still a great song to dance to.

13) Haddaway "What Is Love (Remix)" - Even though this is a remix, I don't feel it should have been included twice. However the remix is still really good.

14) Tamia "Careless Whisper" - Tamia has a lot of talent, but I feel this song shouldn't have been included because it doesn't sound right. It is an awesome song though, and would have done well as a single.

If you loved the movie you must get the cd! it is full of hip hop dance songs and it a great cd for all the different music on the cd! I listen to the whole cd all the time it great ! I love every track on the cd! For the price they have here, it's worth every penny!A must for fans of the movie and soundtrack collectors alike! Another CD that is similar to this is the movie soundtrack to "Superstar" with Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell!

This is the ultimate party cd! Perfect for any part anywhere. These songs i have listened to a bunch of times, and they're all pretty much the same songs that is on every dance party cd out there, but oh well! If they're great dance songs, they're great dance songs! No doubt about it.

Here are the songs listed one by one

Haddawy 'What is Love' - this song is irritating. I don't like it!!!

Bamboo 'Bamboogie' - ok song, nice take on the KC Sunshine band, though. Great beat, great sound.

Robi Rob's Club World 'Make that Money' - THIS IS THE BEST SONG! THis song is soooooooooooooo cool! Excellent beats, exellent rhythms, pure energy! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, all the other songs are pretty cool, like Cindy Lauper's "Disco Inferno", Amber "This Is Your Night", my favorite group Ace of Base w/ beautiful life, etc. Great party cd, great songs! Play it at any party and get your groove on!

5 out of 5 stars The Soundtrack to A Night at the Roxbury - This is Damn Good   April 15, 2000

This album is a great addition to any collection as far as I'm concerned. I saw the film at a mates house at New Year's Eve and the music really adds to it. Big Time.

There are a few songs that are in the film that weren't included on the album but the songs that are on it are designed to get ya up and dancing. It's great music for the car and good music is always good, no matter how old it may be.

I think the best songs on the album are:

What is Love (7" Mix) - Haddaway,

Insomnia (Moster Mix) - Faithless, Where do you Go (Ocean Drive Mix) - No Mercy

All three of these feature prominently on the film and are very damn appropriate if ya ask me and the others ain't exactly the worst collection of songs you'll find.

My conclusion about the album is that it makes very few concessions about what it is. It's fun, entertaining music, despite it's age. If you want an album you can just have fun listening and dancing to then look no further. My advice to you would be to check out the film first. People who like the film will ,most probably want this as well (a la moi) but those that don't, won't. Count me very much in the first category.
