Album Description For the first time in television history, a storyline on a TV series will result in a soundtrack album. After inhabitants of Tree Hill are stricken by cancer, their friends and neighbors stage a concert and create a modern-rock compilation album to raise money to fight the disease. That album, on the show and in real life, is One Tree Hill, Vol.2-and a substantial portion of its proceeds will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Association.

Awesome CD! March 20, 2006 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
The best track is "Halo". It's very catchy and has a great melody! Go Haley James Scott aka. Bethany Joy Lenz! Love the Nada Surf song "Always Love". Songs by Feeder and Jack's Mannequin are also worth listening to over and over again. Unforgetable is "For Blue Skies" by Strays Don't Sleep. Purchase the CD. A substantial portion of the proceeds will to the National Breast Cancer Association.
Best Soundtrack Out There! February 13, 2006 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
1. Feeling A Moment - Feeder : A great starting track for the soundtrack I really liked it. 2. The Mixed Tape - Jack's Mannequin : I really got into this song its an excellent track and now one of my favorite songs. 3. Be Yourself - Audioslave : I never thought I would like Audioslave but this is a great track. 4. Always Love - Nada Surf : I got into Nada Surf thanks to OTH I heard them on the show and mentioned on Peyton's Podcast so I bought the cd and this (in my personal opinion) is their best song. 5. Jealous Guy - Gavin DeGraw : Personally i'm not a big Gavin fan but it's an okay song. 6. Son's Gonna Rise - Citizen Cope : I really like this song I've heard it many times but wasn't sure who it was. This is another good (not excellent) song on the CD. 7. Middle of Nowhere - Hot Hot Heat : I don't like Hot Hot Heat but this shows that the OTH producers know how to choose music because I actually like this song. 8. Missing You - Tyler Hilton : This song is just a great song but not as good as his duet with with Bethany Joy Lenz on the first cd. 9. Light Years Away - Mozella : A very calming song it relaxes me very much. 10. Please Please Please - Shout Out Louds : AN okay song I don't personally like it much but I know some people who do. 11. I've Got A Dark Alley And A Bad Idea... - Fall Out Boy : A good song but I thnk that instead of this they should've put Dance, Dance since it was performed on the Halloween episode of the show. 12. 23 - Jimmy Eat World Listen Listen : This song is pretty long but it's a nice song. 13. Halo - Haley James Scott : THIS SONG!!! It's the BEST song on the whole cd and I constantly am listening to it but it is great how on the show she recorded the song and they put it on the cd. 14. Coffee & Cigarettes - Michelle Featherstone : Good Song..All I have to say. 15. For Blue Skies - Strays Don't Sleep : This si a great song but sort of sad in a way (not like bad but literally sad). + I bought my copy off of iTunes and it came with an extra acoustic version of Tyler Hilton's song "Missing You" I'm also planning on buying it again jsut to support the cause it helping and because the case is pretty nice ;D. Well overall this is an excellent cd and I reccomend it to everyone specially fans of the show. IT is great how OTH does thsi type of thing specially since the cd was jsut made on the show and in real life. 5 Stars. Hope this helped! -MAC
Awsome BUY!!!! February 15, 2006 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
First off I want to start off by saying that I am a huge fan of this show! And second I loved the creative idea it was to incorporate a soundtrack with a storyline with a music video. The idea that this soundtrack was complied on the show by the character (Peyton) and then by having her get bands off it to perform at a benefit concert is awsome. By the having the show's production mirror this image into real life by doing the sunkist one tree hill tour with Tyler Hilton and Bethany Joy was another accompishment of the skilled team behind this show!
The first single is by Jack's Mannequin, and not only is there lead singer Andrew McMahon a cancer survivor, but their band decided to have the single's (the mixed tape) video made around the plot of the show. It was filmed in and around WIlmington,NC and they used the charcaters as the center of the video. That took some serious thought to create!!
When I though last season the creators of this show did such a wonderful job of incorporating the tour with the wreckers in real life - they have out done themselves this time around!!
And third, having this album dedicated to helping the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation is absolutely wonderful. My mother is a Breast Cancer survivor and it's really nice to see a show take aim at the younger generations by raising awareness on this topic at a level that we can relate to. Most shows would aim some lame P.S.A to educate; yet the people at the WB and T.R.P productions have chosen such better outlet to do so. Music speaks to the heart of the generations and this album is no exception.!!!!
One final note, I absolutely love Bethany Joy Galeotti (Lenz) and her music is so wonderful & I can't wait until her solo record comes out this spring. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised at her amazing talent and voice!!!
Lets hope that the CW executives keep this show around, because believe me it's a wonderful creative development that just keeps on getting better and better. They have developed such unique ideas to reach out to the public and hopefully they will keep on working!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*As for purchasing the cd, I bought both the international version and the one here in the states- the international one has a few more songs, but it was totally worth helping out such a great cause that is so close to home for me*
Hope you all enjoy this record -its GREAT & totally worth it!
Best CD I ever bought March 25, 2006 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I would recommend this CD to anyone out there. It's perfect for any mood and it's gotten me through so much. I have no complaints at all, and I think each the whole cd is blended together well, i wouldn't have minded more songs - but hey, i take what i can get right? It's definitely worth the money and a partial profit of the proceeds goes to breast cancer research so really, what are you waiting for!? It works perfectly, best show and best CD. =)
awesome soundtrack! February 16, 2006 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
this soundtrack is really good not only is it great to know that its from the storyline of one tree hill, it has really good music.
im a HUGE fan of jacks mannequin and they're just starting to get mainstream and the mixed tape is just one good track out of their cd, everything in transit. on the episode where he performed, other really good songs like holiday from real and dark blue were played and really matched the scenes and what was happening the lead singer, andrew mcmahon, from jacks mannequin also survived from leukemia so this also relates to him.
also other artists like fall out boy, tyler hilton, gavin degraw, etc are all on the soundtrack and i think the songs that were chosen were really good.
halo is a great song. the artist name says haley james scott, which is the characters name on one tree hill i think it was a good idea to put that name instead of bethany joy galeotti
overall, this cd was awesome not only is it from the hit tv show one tree hill (my fav show!) but it also helps cancer victims, like ellie, on the show which is great
this is a really good cd and i recommend it to anyone whos interested in getting it!!
