Not the 2 CD version August 11, 2006 193 out of 196 found this review helpful
This is a great album but not the exact one that you see on TV. The one sold on TV is a 2-album set with 32 songs. This has a mixture of songs from both of the 2 albums from the TV version. Just incase your curious, here is the TV version. Disc 1 1. Lightning Crashes | Live 2. Champagne Supernova | Oasis 3. If You Could Only See | Tonic 4. Glycerine | Bush 5. Doll Parts | Hole 6. Santeria | Sublime 7. Hemorrhage (In My Hands) | Fuel 8. A Long December | Counting Crows 9. Counting Blue Cars | Dishwalla 10. Linger | Cranberries 11. Hanging By A Moment | Lifehouse 12. Runaway Train | Soul Asylum 13. Til I Hear It From You | Gin Blossoms 14. Here's To The Night | Eve 6 15. What Do I Have To Do? | Stabbing Westward 16. Out of My Head | Fastball
Disc 2 1. It's Been A While | Staind 2. Jumper | Third Eye Blind 3. Wasting My Time | Default 4. Everything You Want | Vertical Horizon 5. Sex & Candy | Marcy Playground 6. Far Behind | Candlebox 7. The Freshman | Verve Pipe 8. Take A Picture | Filter 9. What It's Like | Everlast 10. Something's Always Wrong | Toad The Wet Sprocket 11. World I Know | Collective Soul 12. Desperately Wanting | Better Than Ezra 13. Angry Johnny | Poe 14. Save Me | Remy Zero 15. Easy | Faith No More 16. Smells Like Teen Spirit | Tori Amos
Great Collection to Lie Back and Rock On! July 27, 2006 24 out of 32 found this review helpful
Maybe this collection is named BUZZ BALLADS because these tunes are great to listen to with a beer buzz. But this compilation of contemporary (well, Nineties is contemp, in my book) ballads sounds great sans buzz; it sounds great whether I'm driving to the convenience store or singing along in the shower. Good rock is good rock, and BUZZ BALLADS is as timeless as it is transcendent.
These are great tracks, featuring terrific artistry, vocals, innovation, and musicianship. They include--but are not limited to--"Lightning Crashes" (Live); "If You Could Only See" (Tonic); "Glycerine" (Bush); "It's Been Awhile" (Staind); "Jumper" (Third Eye Blind); "Wasting My Time" (Default); "What It's Like" (Everlast); and "The World I Know" (Collective Soul).
That's pretty good company for any CD compilation.
(NOTE: This is a TWO-CD collection with sixteen cuts on each disc! Other Amazonians per the product discussion have posted they only received one disc. I would recommend contacting Customer Service before ordering here to verify! FYI.)
These are great tunes. . .buzz or no buzz. --D. Mikels
not as seen on tv!!! August 4, 2006 16 out of 20 found this review helpful
I was avery pissed off when i received this cd in the mail. I was expecting to get both disks like I had seen on tv but there is only one cd. I do not recommend this for anyone who wants what they saw on tv.
Hunh...You were expecting 2Cds for only $13.88???!! August 7, 2006 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
Pay attention people. This is one CD. It's not the double Cd collection sold on TV for $27. It's priced the same as most new SINGLE CDs. Geez...everybody wants something for nothin.
Newspeak Ballads August 25, 2006 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
A pretty good compilation of songs. I would have given it 5 stars, but they put the edited radio versions of each song on the CD...which means no potty-mouth. Whenever a banned word comes up, they figure out some way to mute the singing, or cover it up with some noise. I always found this practice completely annoying, but hey, It's not as bad as the old days when they just covered it with a tone. It is however, ridiculously excessive in Everlast's "What It's Like".
