| Editorial Reviews:
Album Description This is Linda Eder's first-ever Greatest Hits compilation. Sampling highlights from musicals including Funny Girl, Man of La Mancha, La Cage aux Folles, and others. An incredible collection of the Broadway star's finest recorded work, ranging from stirring ballads to swinging up-tempo numbers. Songs included 'Don't Rain On My Parade' (from Funny Girl) and 'Over The Rainbow', the Judy Garland classic that inspired Eder to pursue her dream. Several of the songs are the teamwork of Eder's partnership with her husband, Frank Wildhorn (the composer of Jekyll & Hyde); songs like 'Bring On the Men', 'A New Life', and 'Someone Like You'. Selections from Eder's albums Broadway My Way and It's Time display her as one of today's leading ladies of musical theater. The disc is a winning showcase for Eder's talents and a wonderful addition to any collection of contemporary show tunes. 15 tracks. Rhino Records. WEA. 2008.

Brilliant selection, terrible remastering. May 28, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I adore Linda Eder and I have every album she's ever released. She just gets better and better as the years go by and I really do think she's 'touched the gold' so to speak. Her voice is one of the greatest there is and, as this CD clearly shows, she has one HECK of a catalogue.
That being said, I really don't care for the 'remastering' done here. I do not subscribe to the lazy, "boost the volume, tweak the EQ, compress the life out of everything and swim everything in reverb" style of remastering, and that is exactly what has been done here. I find this CD unlistenable.
But, it's Linda and I'm going to keep on supporting her career and it's always interesting to read what she has to say about each song, as you can in the liner notes to this CD.
Great but why? March 14, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Linda is flawless and this is a great collection, but if you're a Linda fan you already have all these songs... I'm really surprised she didn't record at least ONE new song - that's really how they're doing these greatest hits compilations these days. Regardless, she's one in a million - don't miss a chance to see her live.
Loving Linda February 10, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I make a point of seeing Linda live every chance I get. This greatest hits is overdue and a great compilation of favorites - songs that only appreared once on older records show up here - great "first taste" if you have never purchased one of her CDs. Great job Linda!
