Julianne Hough is already known to millions of fans as the two-time professional dance champion on ABC-TV's top-rated Dancing with the Stars (DWTS). The show, which pairs professional dancers with music, sports, film and television celebrities, has become a cultural phenomenon and Julianne its top star.

Julianne's debut album is a compelling collection of songs about the joys and challenges of everyday life delivered by an evocative young voice. "That Song In My Head" is the first single from the album and available immediately to download from the Amazon MP3 store.

Album Description
Every country artist once had a day job that pays the bills and fills the void between hopeful aspiration and bonafide success. However, never in the history of country music has someone taken a more celebrated path on the road to their country music dream than Julianne Hough (pronounced Huff). A triple threat as a singer, actress and dancer, Julianne is already known to millions of fans as the two-time professional dance champion on ABC-TV's top-rated Dancing with the Stars (DWTS). The show, which pairs professional dancers with music, sports, film and television celebrities, has become a cultural phenomenon and Julianne its top star. Though Julianne has been winning world dance titles since her early teens, her ultimate goal has always been a career in country music. 'I've always wanted to sing country music,' says the 19 year-old blonde. 'I've grown up with country music. I love how real everybody is, not just the artists, but the fans.' Recorded in Nashville, Julianne's debut disc reveals her appreciation for country music's roots as well as her fresh-faced contributions to the genre's future. She has a warm, textured voice that is equally suited to feisty up-tempo tunes and contemplative ballads, both of which can be found on her debut. 'I love story songs and message songs,' she says, 'but I also love quirky, fun, uptempo songs that make you want to just get up and move.'

3 out of 5 stars Disappointed, but Hopeful   May 26, 2008

I was prepared to love this album because I've enjoyed Ms. Hough's TV performances. However, I had trouble understanding some of the lyrics because there seemed to be a lack of clear enunciation. Also was not prepared for all the references to alcohol & cigarettes--they just didn't fit the persona I expected & they were jarring.

I wish this budding talent long-term success, & I hope she finds material that will both satisfy her current fans & help her build a greater base. I'd love to buy future albums appropriate for family pre-teens.

I'm quite surprised that this two time winning DWTS champion can pull off another talent. Julianne Hough is quite the double threat. I enjoy listening to all the songs, especially "Dreaming Under the Same Moon" where she sings with her brother, Derek. She is going to have a successful career in music, and I can't wait to hear more music from her in the future.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty darn good   May 21, 2008

Not only a pretty girl, a fabulous dancer, but also a pretty darn good singer. These songs are not my cup of tea, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Julianne Hough has a nice voice and is a believable country singer. Good for her!

Man I couldn't wait for the album and listen to her - she's awesome the songs are wonderful and the duet with her brother is great - I certainly hope he branches out also to a singing career - the only thing I could think of is this is the Blonde Osmonds - they've got it all! keep it going Julianne your a treasure to watch and enjoy - thanks for branching into music

she really does have it all and i hope she gets the respect and recognition she deserves for her singing and not just her dancing! the album has it all, serious ballads, up-beat catchy dance songs, and passion! i think even those who aren't country fans can enjoy this album... definitely a unique voice, and the cd showcases that! i highly recommend it, all the songs are catchy -- great summer debut album!
