5 out of 5 stars Unknown Is The Real King!   November 5, 2002

The future is Unknown, baby! This is the second set of chart toppin' Unknown hits. Not for the "politically correct" in any sense of the word. My favorite cuts included "The Trunk of My Cadillac Car" (a typical Unknown "date"), "Hippie Girl" (Unknown's encounter with a co-ed), "Fishcamp Woman (LIVE)" (sample line "Fishcamp woman...baby I like the way you smell."), and my personal favorite: "Foggy Windows" (call the "law dawgs" if you want). One of the funniest things I have ever heard in my life. Unknown is faithful to the genre while he makes fun of it. He also happens to be a fantastic guitar player. If you ever get the chance to see this guy in concert...don't miss it. Who cares if he is a country-western singing vampire? Get your hands on all things Unknown!

5 out of 5 stars Don't be afraid, go ahead and buy it   July 3, 2004

I hesitated to buy this record...because who knows what in the world was going to be on the CD?!? It's not like Unknown Hinson is going to be something you'll hear on the radio. I saw the CD Cover in a store and thought I had to hear some of this guy's music, went to his website and got hooked.

This CD is very, very good. The songs really are funny, and I generally do not like funny songs. But this goes way beyond Weird Al or Ray Stevens or anything like that. The songs ARE funny, but they are expertly performed. I was really impressed with The Unknown Hinson's musical capabilities. He was great on this record. The record manages to maintain a classic country feel even when singing the most unexpected lyrics I've ever come across. It was funny, but somehow this music does not seem to become reptitive or boring.

I think he has really created something here. I'll buy the next one when it becomes available. I'm impressed.

5 out of 5 stars This isn't your regular country jam.   May 24, 2005

This guy reminds me a little of Ray Stevens, except it's more mature oriented. His guitar playing is actually pretty good. He's also right clever in his use of lyrics. Funny stuff. I liked it.

5 out of 5 stars The King Returns!   April 12, 2004

Some new tunes and old favorites for long-time fans! "Foggy Windows" is still my favorite, but "I Cleaned Out A Room (In My Trailer For You),"Lingerie," "Peace, Love, and Hard Liquor," "I Quit All That Mess" and plenty of others cement The King's place in music history. Hell, he is music history. Buy this CD!!! As a matter of fact, forget all that rock mess that any idiot can play and buy a couple dozen copies of the CD, stand on the street corner and pass 'em out to people. The King'll thank you for it.

5 out of 5 stars Candidate For the Next David Lynch Movie   April 20, 2004

Okay the music is astonishing but what really needs to happen with Unknown is to star in an upcoming David Lynch movie. This guy must have inspired Blue Velvet but how is that possible when he was serving time in the county jail? This guy gives new meaning to the term "dark." Unknown transcends dark, he transcends art, he transcends human. Maybe this is a new way to be human. After listening to "The Future is Unknown" he gets my vote for new artist of the year, theologian of the year and philospher of the year! "Rawk" is not dead, it's alive! It's alive!
