Product Description Sharon Little had been making ends meet as a waitress in a Philadelphia-area restaurant when she scored a record deal with CBS Records in early 2008. Within weeks of completing her new album, Perfect Time For A Breakdown, Sharon was chosen by Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and T Bone Burnett to open their entire Raising Sand U.S. tour, which will put her in front of thousands of fans each night of the 33-show trek.
While this might seem that she s an overnight sensation , she is anything but a flash in the pan. She s a singer of intense emotional honesty and the songs she s written reveal an old soul that just happens to be within a person possessed of undeniable physical and spiritual beauty. The journey that has taken her so far in seemingly so short a time has actually been a life-long quest to find her voice, both in the literal and figurative sense.
The songs on Perfect Time For A Breakdown were written by Sharon and her collaborator, Scot Sax, who co-produced with Mark Howard, noted for his work with Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Lucinda Williams. The album s 11 tunes were inspired in part by numerous cross-country train adventures Little and Sax have experienced over the past 2 years.
Her first five shows with Plant, Krauss & Burnett in April earned Little thunderous standing ovations, and it s only a matter of time before the rest of the world catches on to what the tour audiences are learning first hand: Sharon Little is a unique voice in a crowded landscape and she s here to stay.

The album's 11 tunes were inspired in part by numerous cross-country train adventures Little and Sax have experienced over the past two years; those journeys further strengthened a musical and personal collaboration that began in 2006 with a meeting at Milkboy Coffee Shop in Philadelphia. 2008 finds Sharon Little as the opening performer for the Robert Plant, Alison Krauss & T Bone Burnett tour for the remainder of their Raising Sand North American Tour. The nine additional dates include stops in Sharon's hometown of Philadelphia, Nashville and her first international date in Toronto, Canada.

New Star Emerges July 3, 2008 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
'Perfect Time for a Breakdown' let's you hear Sharon Little's incredible range over the combination rock and blues music she co-composed. Soft, Powerful, sometimes Joplinesque, her music grabs you from nowhere and brings you to attention - and you stay there. I saw her at the Greek theatre in L.A. opening for Robert Plant/Alison Krauss. She walked out to a half filled blasse audience - and walked off to a standing stunned crowd. The next night, I was fortunate enough to see both perfect performances by Stevie Winwood and Tom Petty at the Hollywood Bowl. But the CD I listened to on my way home was Sharon Little's. - Her recorded music is great, but see her live - she performs.
If you have a heart, you'll want to hear Sharon's Little's heart! May 31, 2008 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
The only thing better than a CD by Sharon Little is seeing her perform live! She is a masterful songwriter and a moving & courageous performer. Sharon willingly allows each song to take her over and she becomes all of the longing, fear, joy and heartbreak in each one. I grew up on the music of the 50's 60's and 70's and matured on the best of the what's been out there since and I gotta tell you, I never heard better or been moved more by any other singer/songwriter. She is simply unique and has a gift for sharing a song that is unparallelled. Get everything of Sharon's that you can get your hands on. Before the first song is over, you will be calling all your friends and telling them they gotta hear this woman sing!
Don't miss out on this! June 15, 2008 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I also saw Sharon open for Robert Plant and Alison Krauss and was immediately capitvated by this charming, giggly girl with that amazing voice. I hope that with the reception she's been getting on this tour, her waitressing days are behind her. How many opening acts get standing ovations? GET THIS CD! You won't be disappointed. I listen every day.
Saw her live and she is just as great as the CD June 12, 2008 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
I saw her opening up Last night at the WaMu Theature in NYC for Plant/Kruass and she was GREAT. This cd is a treat for the ears, a bluesy-sexy mix.. hard to explain but easy to listen to!

great debut June 30, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
(4 stars for the songs I've heard on her album so far, an extra star for her great live set).
I just saw her open for Krauss & Plant at the Greek in Berkeley, CA. When she first stepped on stage, I felt a little sorry for her-- opening act is a tough gig, esp. for a relatively unknown singing before a rock god (Plant) and one of the most amazing vocalists of our time (Kraus). But it became quite clear at the beginning of her first song that Little was not overwhelmed by her circumstances. Lovely & powerful voice, great phrasing & emotion, charm, stage presence & enthusiasm. I checked out songs from her album available on her website & was equally impressed. Def. will buy her album & can't wait to see her again.
