Just try to stop your toes tapping. October 21, 2008
Unlike so many albums that start strong and then taper off with a bunch of ill-conceived songs that seem like filler, this offering from Pink Spiders starts strong, then only gets better. The true toe-tapping begins with "Stranglehold" (track 7) and continues through "Here Comes Trouble" (track 12). This six-song stretch is utterly brilliant power pop or punk pop or whatever you want to call it. Each song is a tiny gem with an unforgettable hook that, in all honesty, reminds me of the pop perfectionism of early Beatles albums. When you consider how few bands can nail more than one or two tracks per album, the fact that the Pink Spiders knock six straight songs out of the park is pretty remarkable. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys fun, driving pop rock music.
