A Rare Find November 10, 2007
I can't imagine there being a bigger Cure fan than I was back in the 80's. I owned upwards of 20 Cure Albums, EP's, and compilations. I happened upon this cassette at an independent record shop and I was shocked at both the fact that I had never seen or heard of it and that it was $30!! I immediately bought it and I remember I pretty much wore the thing out in a month, before having it ripped off out of my car. To this day, I have never seen another copy. I remember the sound quality wasn't all that great, but it had a wealth of cool live tracks and never-before-heard, unreleased demos. I believe there were a couple tracks from their first ever public performance as "The Easy Cure" at some sort of town festival. They did a Hendrix cover. It's easily the Cure's rawest offering ever. Very, very cool if you're a serious Cure fan. If not, you'll probably be disappointed.

I just opened up my boxes of old cassette tapes to see what could be recovered and came across my copy (yes, copy - the original is in the hands of my boyfriend of the time, presumably) of this one. I like it because it is not as tweaked as the studio albums. It is weird and offputting and kind of annoying but it grabs you at the same time. Knives in the ears if you are expecting the usual Cure from the albums, but knives in the ears in a good way if you are a Cure fan.... Find it if you can.
