Album Description Cherry Red are pleased to announce the release of Danse Society's third and final studio album, Looking Through. Formed in Barnsley in 1980 from the remnants of local post-punk bands Y? and Lips-X, Danse Society comprised vocalist Steve Rawlings, bass player Tim Wright, guitarist Paul Nash, drummer Paul Gilmartin and keyboard player Lyndon Scarfe. Cherry Red is pleased that another of the enduring recordings of this astonishingly dramatic band is given the chance to breath again. The combination of sonic belligerence and a decorous, almost wistful touch will see that Danse Society will always be remembered as a band with a unique sense of style and musical occasion

long awaited...... April 2, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After I purchased Heaven is Waiting and Seduction I emailed cherry red and begged them to release the last Danse album. They finally did this month and I was really glad. However, while the songs are great it sounds as if Cherry Red took a cassette tape and burnt it onto cd. The sound is very muffled except for on track 7. I understand that these songs were only demos that DS made to get a new record deal, but I bet some kind of re-mastering could have been done. This is the reason i gave it only 4 stars. it is a great album, a little less "goth" than Heaven is Waiting, but a great album
Great Album, Horrible Audio On This Release April 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased this album on vinyl in 1986. Been waiting for 20 years to get it on CD. This is a great album. Received this CD yesterday. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the audio on this CD is horrible. It sounds worse than a worn out cassette. Don't buy this CD. Play it on vinyl.
It's Not Remastered July 23, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Don't let the "Original Recordings Remastered" fool you. They didn't do it at all. I totally love this album and was so bummed to receive this. I wrote to the label and they didn't have any good reason why they used such a bad master. They didn't really seem to care which might explain why this was released. Never buying anything from them again. My vinyl that I put on cd sounds 10 times better. In this time and age, we shouldn't even have to complain about sound quality anymore. Record companies shouldn't be releasing anything that sounds this awful. I'm still sore about this purchase. IT IS THE WORSE SOUNDING CD THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED. I gave this two stars because it deserves an extra star for being such a great album.
Horrible Sound, don't waste your money September 3, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a good work by the band, but the quality sounds it's horrible, don't buy this. CherryRed have the obligation to replace the item. It's a real shame.
