Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
"Show Me the Way" is both legacy and new beginning for the Gothic Metal flagship band ELIS. On the one hand, the MCD honorably closes the "Griefshire" chapter by offering former Frontlady Sabine Duenser's final, unreleased works. On the other hand, it supplies fans with a new version of the sweeping Gothic Metal classic "Show Me the Way", courtesy of their fantastic new vocalist, Sandra Schleret. Regardless of destiny's fatal blow, ELIS delivers a worthy memorial for their deceased vocalist, while taking a first step to continue the band with dignity.

5 out of 5 stars A sample of Elis's future   January 26, 2008

It has been over a year since the gothic metal band Elis lost its lead singer Sabine Duenser to a cerebal hemorrhage. After taking a few months off to grieve and to do some soul searching, Elis returned last year with a new album. Much to my surprise, it would not be Sabine's final contribution to the band, her final work can be heard on the EP SHOW ME THE WAY.

SHOW ME THE WAY is a five song EP featuring a new version of "Show Me the Way" with the band's new singer Sandra Schleret. I had no doubt that the band had found the right singer in Sandra after hearing samples of her work on the internet. Her vocals are reminiscent of Sabine but without sounding too much like her predecessor. They are clean and delicate. Tracks 2, 3, and 4 are songs from the GRIEFSHIRE sessions that were not included on the band's third album. I enjoyed every single song on this short EP. I am glad to get a chance to hear Sandra sing. She sounds great. I really liked the ballad "In Einem Verlassenen Zimmer". It is one of the band's best ballads I have ever heard. I even liked the Tom Saxon's cookie monster on acid vocals on the song "Salvation". They actually didn't bother me like they bothered me on the band's last two albums. SHOW ME THE WAY is a nice appetizer to hold over until the band puts out a new album. This is definitely worth owning in your music collection for gothic metal fans. I am excited to hear more from Sandra and the boys.
