Amazon.com The soundtrack to the best movie ever made about strippers nods to the second-best, with a new version of Irene Cara's theme song from Flashdance, and to another famous cinematic striptease, with Tom Jones's cover of "You Can Leave Your Hat On." The bulk of the score, though, consists of songs that are more or less real-world stripper classics. It's hard to hear Hot Chocolate full blast and not bump and grind at least a little. Trivia note: Anne Dudley, who wrote the movie's incidental music (two pieces are included here), used to be in the Art of Noise. --Douglas Wolk

Tip-Top! November 5, 1999 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this CD because I loved the movie. Easy to say that I was not disappointed! Great mix of old favorites and soundtrack scores.
A fun, up-beat album February 2, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
A great mix of classic songs like "You Sexy Thing" by Hot Chocolate, and a great remake of "You can leave your hat on" by Tom Jones. There are also 2 tracks that are from the original score, composed by Anne Dudley. This is an album that will make you wanna get up and dance, with it's semi-camp 70's disco songs, and the final song may even get you to doing your own version of The Full Monty. Just make sure that the curtains are closed.
kinda hard NOT to bump 'n grind to this July 11, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Whenever I have this CD playing I have to be careful that my teenagers aren't around because it embarrasses them to death to see me bumping and grinding in the kitchen while cooking their dinner. Yes, it's that kind of CD. I'm not into stripping myself but this album certainly makes me want to move. The songs are mostly all oldies from the 70s and 80s but the sort that you can listen to (and holler with) again and again (excepting The Zodiac, which really does remind you of 1960s England). I take exception to others' reviews of Tom Jones remake of "You Can Leave Your Hat On." I originally bought this soundtrack for that song alone and think it surpasses the original. I've seen the movie three times and play this soundtrack whenever I need a lift or am feeling slightly wild. It's a lot of fun.
Full Monty Review October 29, 1998 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
"The Full Monty," is the soundtrack to a movie of five men who are in need of money. Hey, what better way to make money than by simply STRIPPING?. That's basically the theme and the style of the music on the CD. Great! It is the perfect party CD, because the beats are fast and the lyrics become stuck in your head straight away. My favorite song on the CD is "You sexy thing" by Hot Chocolate, but there are many other cool songs on the CD. I highly recommend it!

The songs are not in the order they appear in the movie, and a few songs seem to be omitted. Also, more of the original music could have been included.
