4 out of 5 stars The BEST of the Celtic Woman solo albums   January 15, 2006

If you are looking for a beautiful addition to your CD library, then this is the CD for you. After buying and loving my PBS Celtic Woman CD I was thrilled to see all of the solo albums at my local bookstore. This is the only one I bought and I know I made the correct choice. Chloe's clear-as-a-bell tone is the kind of voice you want to play again and again. The song choices are also what makes this CD a success. For me, sometimes the Celtic songs (on other CDs) start to run together a little too much, which is why I appreciate that this CD is mostly in English and the song choices and song order was thoughtfully done. You will not regret this purchase. Enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars enjoy this celtic crystal-clear voiced soprano   January 12, 2006

Chloe's solo CD is arguably the closest to the sound and production style of the mega-hit "Celtic Woman"(CW) CD from last year. Her crystalline soprano stands out on songs also featured previously in CW including "Walking on the Air", "Nella Fantasia", "Someday", "One Worlds" and "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"(which was featured in the PBS special and DVD but not on the CW CD.

She adds a fresh spin to the oft used songs in pop-opera circles, "The Prayer"[Watson,Groban, Dion, Bocelli], "Vincent" and "To Where You Are"[Groban]. She also takes on some pure classical compositions including Franck's "Panis Angelicus" and Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and a interesting vocal to Vivaldi's "Rain" from the "The Four Season's". She also adds the beautiful song "Winter Light" from the movie "The Secret Garden"[also recorded by Linda Ronstadt and later by Sarah Brightman}.

Chloe's enchanting vocal quality will make this CD a must-have. ALthough she does not break new ground, this CD will serve as a great companion piece to "Celtic Woman" and is my personal favorite of the 5 artists featured in Celtic Women.

5 out of 5 stars My favorite of the Celtic Woman albums   March 11, 2007

Not only is there wide diversity of song material here, but much of it is simply haunting. This is an album that is soft and accessable without sounding overly sentimental. In short, it is music that can be listened to b men and women and it soothes the soul. Listen to the song Walking in The Air, for instance. Sound familiar? Maybe so, because it was used in a lovely animated movie called The Snowman. Other songs will sound equally familiar but subtly transcendent when sung by Chloe.

5 out of 5 stars I Wish More Things Sounded Like This   January 21, 2007

I discovered, after hearing my first Hayley Westenra album, that I am easily hypnotized by a high pure woman's voice singing things melodic. For some reason this embarasses me. Of course, I think of myself as one of those godawful intellectuals who have long conversations about Back's inner voices. I have to sneak away from myself to enjoy something that is simply pure and melodic, something which, in this day and age, puts emotion and beauty first.

Well there, I've confessed. Chloe Agnew does a wonderful job of picking music that fits her voice perfectly and then being perfect with it. The selection runs from classical to popular, and there isn't a loser in the bunch. What I would really like to know is why there is only one Chloe Agnew album on this continent (or any other). She is another young, fresh voice like Hayley Westenra and deserves every bit of recognition she gets.

5 out of 5 stars This is amazing - Real music from heaven   April 19, 2006

I don't have this CD yet and I can't wait until I have it in my hands. This review is mostly about Chloe. She is the sweetest girl I have ever seen in my life (besides my little daughter of course :-)). I watched Chloe on TV Celtic Woman Public Television Broadcast and recently I attended the concert at the Laurie Auditorium in San Antonio TX, although I live in Dallas. She has that pure and honest style and you feel that she is actually singing to you although you are in a crowded theater. I am planning to get every single CD she produces because she is an amazing singer and since she is so young, well, who knows how much more she can give us. Also I concur with other reviewers about that it would be awesome if Chloe and Josh Groban sang together, it would definitely be extremely special. My favorite songs are Nella Fantasia and Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring.
