'Bout Time! April 10, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Finally my man Suga Free realeases another LP. I have been waiting for this along time, but it was definitely worth it. The PIMP is at it again, with bangin beats all over the album. Sad though, this album wont sell much, 'cause Suga Free is painfully underated. But, since you're reading my review, and you got my word on it that this is the bomb, buy it right now, you will be bumpin' this all summer, it perfect for the car, rollin' down the beach-line with your windows open. That's the way of life. Support Suga Free and let him get what he deserves, West Coast rap is underated as well, so I suggest you buy this together with the new from Dilated Peoples and the new from Messy Marv. Suga's flow is, of course on point through this realease, and lyrically it's entertaining and fun. Give it up for the PIMP himself, Suga Free keep doin' your thang. Crab yourself a copy today. Definitely recommended!
Your Friendly Neighborhood Playa Partna Is Bacc!!! March 16, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you are a true West Coast ridah this is a must have! it has all the elements of a true classic, tight beats, tight rhymes, and that unique style only Suga Free can bring, some of the best cutz on the album are songs like; Thinkin (produced by Quik), Get Loose (produced by Saccs), Pay Me (produced by Saccs), and last but not least a highly unusual, yet still bangin' tracc feat. Chingy???- Circus Music (produced by Quik.) This is a must have, a cd you can just put in and listen to, the whole way through! the West is Bacc!!!
Best Album Since "STREET GOSPEL" !!! March 25, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
*** I ran out of lil' yellow stars to check so had to add a few here.Suga Free is the freshest voice to smack a track since Ronald's first Big Mac. Free is a rare glimps of a true artist who brings it like he see's it from the streets to the studio. DJ Quik has mastered the sound and style to compliment Suga Free's style and when you put the Quik and Free together miracles happen. If you got hooked on Free's debut "Street Gospel" this will fullfill your addiction. If your just looking for something new and potent, "The New Testament" will have you jonesing for more! Stand-Out tracks include: 3) Thinkin' (Quik and Free at their best, Definitley the album MVP) 2) Why You Bulls--tin' part 2 (warped but smooth twist to the original) 5) Angry Enuff (Straight Funky) 6) Born Again (hard hittin, hence of tribal funk leaving you saying hallelujah) 9) Did I Do Dat (Free flexin' his "charming" vocals on this hook) 11) High Heels (good, Parliament Funkish groove) 15) Circus Muzic (Free unloads on another infectious quick groove) When I first saw that DJ Quik didn't have full production all all tracts I was dissapointed but must say, All are incredible tracks including impressive debuts by Frank Nitty, Saccs and Fastlane. It would have been nice to hear Mausberg grace some tracks but those are features for better days. It's obvious that Suga Free and DJ Quik are aging like a fine wine, only getting better with years! Well worth the wait since Street Gospel but keep in the studio and don't let anyone sleep on it next time! So, if your in to sensless babble about Glocks and Bling on some cheap Nintendo Beats . . . This aint the disc for you! If you crave flava and skill, get at this one! Keep at it Pimp!

West Coast Rap MUST GET!!!! March 14, 2004 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If u consider yourself a TRUE West Coast Rap follower u better NOT miss out on this. From beggining to end this is just a straight out party CD. Produced by Quik so u know this has HIS touch all over it. This is definatly a reason why Quik shouldn't quit producing. The man hasn't lost his touch at all. Suga Free flows on Quik's beats like no one else can. You will NOT be dissapointed by buyin this CD.
