Firmly cemented as Rap's most successful and dependable independent retail success story, Tech N9ne returns to the marketplace with the first double album of his career. Killer speaks to Tech N9nes' skills on the mic. A sizable portion of Tech N9ne's success comes from his status as the world's harest touring Rap act.

Somehow Disappointing July 5, 2008 5 out of 15 found this review helpful
The anxiously awaited and overly ambitious new Tech N9ne album is finally here...does it it live up to the (underground) hype?
Depends on your perspective. Tech really seems to be travelling in two directions, psuedo-pop (like "Wheaties") and uber-underground (anything from his "dark side" section of disc 1). That dichotomy really hurts this album. While each track (for the most part) stands on it's own, Tech never really finds his voice on this record. Partly, the number of the guests hurts the record. Drowned amongst underground nobodies (the Popper, anybody? The Weapon? Lebowski?) Tech certainly outshines them easily, but then why have them on the album at all? Perhaps to give them a hand, like Tech seems to think he never got (check out "Why You Ain't Call Me", a whiny track about how Tech could've blown up if he'd been on more mainstream records...duh). Then there's the more established guests (Ice Cube and Scarface certainly seem out of place) that really don't add much to the record overall, but again, perhaps Tech just wants to feel justified in his bitterness.
"The Waitress" is awful and "Seven Words" isn't even about seven words, it's about SIX. (Lover Will You **** My ****, COUNT GUYS, C'MON) and yeah, the whole "Sextion" piece is pretty terrible. So why four stars? Tech's an incredible rapper, the beats are pretty inventive and diverse enough for a double album. While I didn't really need a "Psycho B**** 2" (who did?) or what's essentially a "Suicide Letters" sequel ("Happy Ending" more bitterness...blah) overall, there's as much good as bad here, and the bad isn't THAT bad, it's just not delivering on the promise Tech N9ne has. Maybe he'll snap out of this funk and deliver some fun rhymes or even horrorcore next time. I just hope whatever he's doing, he does it all the way and doesn't try to please everybody. This album, overall, will satisfy long-time fans, justify critics and nay-sayers, and stay in the underground regardless of what Tech thinks. That's unfortunate, he really had enough talent to make this album a real...Killer.
2 Discs Of Some ~K-I-L-L-E-R~ July 10, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Well.... He did it again! Tech never disappoints me - NEVER! I have alot of respect for tech, for the things he says in his songs, the style he has created, and the fact that he gets no respect from the industry or the radio! It's too bad alot of people shrug him off and won't even give him a chance- they are missing out on the most talanted hip-hop artist ever. 1 Question- WHY IN THE H*LL don't radio stations play him? I could take any song from either disk and make it a huge radio hit- it would be better than most of the crap that is played OUT repeatedly every day. How about something fresh, and mind blowing? I have all of his albums and this one is just as good as all the others, he has not missed a step in his career. He was GREAT, is GREAT, and will always be GREAT! Real Techaneena fans know whats up. Shouldn't everybody? CHECK THIS and ALL OF TECH N9NE's ALBUMS OUT! HE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! PEACE

Go for the Explicit version July 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased the wrong item. I wanted the explicit version, and it is much better in my opinion. Still a great album.
Love this album! July 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
He has finally gone back to some of his darker lyrics like in his Anghellic album. This album combines his party style and his personal heart felt style. Both disc can be listen to over and over again. He does not conform into what is considered mainstream my most, but I actually think that is a breath of fresh air. Tech continues to stay true to his rap foundation, but he infuses soul, metal, and reggae to make what I would consider the album of the year. This is one of those albums you need to listen to more than a few times to pick up on all of messages he has about himself and about the hip hop world. Enjoy!
