The Movie In A Nut Shell August 11, 2000 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
The movie is all the band members (mostly josh) walking around with a microphone talking to people at there concerts, to other bands and amongst themselves. That is kinda the intermission to there videos. Which consist of Black #1, Christina Woman(MTV version), Love You to Death, Christian Woman(long version), My Girlfriends Girlfriend, and Cinimon Girl. For most of the videos a few of the band members give there opinion on what they think the song is about. On each intermision there is one main person talking to the camera Peter is first up and is talking to some reporter asking questions about basicaly everything and nothing.... and thats about all with him. Next up is Jonny, he's talking about his hobbies and his thoughts on Black #1 thats about all. Next up is previous drummer Sal, that little section is short and sweet he says a few things and thats the end of him. Then Josh is going around with a mic and a little clip of him and Phill Ensalmo on Euro MTV (and youll be really suprised what happens on that little segment). Last but not least Kenny is at home with his wife and child having a little fun. Then a few moments with Josh and his thoughts and its the end. It sound really short but its really a good length video.
type o negative--after dark October 27, 2000 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
what you cant get from the video version of after dark comes in the DVD version. the commentary is...well, funny (seems like a whole lotta inside jokes. ill admit to being lost during some parts)and shows the boys being themselves. parts of the commentary, for some reason, are bleeped out (who knows why, i certainly dont) the dvd includes a photo section(not never before seen), band bios (which are also on the website--typeonegative.net) and two tracks that are amazing and will be released on the "least worst of" album. it's great stuff. well worth the money. :o) (side note--if you ever wanted to know what the band really thinks of the videos, etc, this is definatly for you. lotsa ranting and raving durring the commentary)
The only way to see the band up close as well as the videos May 12, 2003 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I am a huge Type-o fan. This DVD totally rounds out my collection. If you like Type-o at all you will love and appreciate the behind the scenes "goings on". Very funny. You also get to see a side of Peter that you don't normally get to see. He talks seriously about how he sees his future.. while standing in a very scenic Autumn scene that he claims will be the location of his dream house. Also heard the pre-release of what will be their last record with Road Runner "Life is Killying me". The best in years. You must buy it. "Do not mistake lack of talent for genius."
Type O videos rock! July 8, 2003 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I love these videos. Too bad MTV doesn't show videos anymore. Type O fans out there should also check out their other DVD Nosferatu. They did the entire soundtrack (new stuff) for the silent version of this horror movie - don't think the tracks are available elsewhere. Kind of wierd to watch a horror movie and listen to O-, but close your eyes and it's like you're listening to their long lost album! Can't wait to catch these guys in concert.

If you are a Type O Negative fan buy this DVD. If not buy it anyway. Type O Negative is so damn funny in this video. You get all the videos they have made, including "Everything Dies". But why this stands apart from the VHS is because it has commentary by the Drab Four (the band) on the entire DVD. BUY IT.
