An interesting collection of remixes to compliment Survivor September 4, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Revivor is a collection of remixes inspired by the original Funker Vogt songs found on their latest album, Survivor. Track 1, Final Thrill (Flatline mix), is an explosive high bpm intro which is almost better than the original song. The next few remixes continue in that fashion, but after that most of the songs drop into a slower break-beat, ambient, or abstract style. This spoils the album somewhat for me, since I tend to favor the continuous fast paced trance-like mixes. Some of the slower tracks are worth mentioning though...I particularly liked T.O.Y.'s remix of Red Queen. The whole point of having a remix album put together is to offer new perspectives on existing songs...and that's exactly what Revivor does. Ultimately, Revivor is worth buying for avid Funker Vogt fans that already have all of their other releases. For those new to the band: I suggest getting Maschine Zeit or Execution Tracks instead, as those are widely considered to be their best albums.

Great Remix Album September 15, 2003 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was my first CD of funkervogt and I was not dissapointed at all. I am into Velvet Acid Christ and I decided to check these guys out based on related artists to V.a.C. I realized this was a remix album but it was their newest release so I wanted a taste of what they were like now. The album in one word is terrific. Really good remixes. I look forward to hearing the original versions. There is also 4 bonus remixes of Final Thrill when you put the CD into your computer. A cool bonus.
