Funker Vogt - Navigator cd March 9, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have listened to many of their songs on a site called www.pandora.com
I first heard of Funker Vogt on myspace.com on a friends page and I heard the song Gunman. Ever since I have loved Funker Vogt. Of of this cd I have heard Friendly Fire(am listening to it play right now on pandora.com), Killing Ground, and No Tomorrow. This is a truely amazing group.
Funker Vogt has awsome songs that totally are worth listening to. I dont own this cd yet but I hope to soon and I would recommend this cd to anyone who loves this genre of music!

I got my Navigator CD a few weeks ago and I love it! Especially the songs 'House of Sorrows' and 'Reject'! THIS CD IS ADDICTIVE! Great dance beats, gets your heart going! Great to listen to on those long trips up and down Interstate 95!
Absolutely amazing! September 17, 2005 I just got my copy yesterday (from Metropolis), and I simply won't remove it from my CD player. Navigator was entirely catchy from the first listen, and just keeps getting better each time I play it. Navigator is an excellent follow-up to their last release, Survivor, but is in no way a carbon copy and is just as strong of an album in its own right.
Within Navigator you'll find Funker Vogt's trademark super-epic arpeggiated synth lines overlaid with war ridden lyrics. They've pulled out a vocoder for this album and do some clever and not overdone pitch shaping with the lead singer's vocals. The music is beautiful and huge, just what you've come to expect from this band based on their last few albums.
This album might not feel as dark as previous releases, but I find it haunting in all the right ways. Funker Vogt is menacing, and this album gives me goose bumps. If you liked Survivor, then you'll love Navigator.
