Product Description Under Satanae is the new full-length release of the Portuguese Dark Metal band Moonspell. This album consists of the complete re-recordings of all the existing pre-Wolfheart songs and includes all the tracks and instrumental pieces of the now legendary avant-garde Under the Moonspell (considered by many fans as an Underground gem of Mediterranean Black Metal) as well as diving deep into the band s blackest roots in the shape of the infamous 1993 demo-tape Anno Satanae and further into Morbid God s (pre-Moonspell) only recorded 1992 song, the tenebrous Serpent Angel . The result is like drinking from a dark fountain of youth. The band has revisited these songs under the wheel of Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Dark Tranquillity, Fight) at Denmark s finest, Antfarm studios and introduced new and daring arrangements to the pieces retaining, at all times, the primordial dark force, enthusiasm and unique depth of the originals.

This cd just smokes! December 10, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm an all time fan of this band, i have all of their albums, including the Under the Moonspell vynil. This cd it's very good, but you have to face a harder version of the band...But the music it's so well written and performed, this music doesn't exist anymore, but this was the real deal in the beggining of the 90's when all of this new, for the time, music, more dark and powerful than death metal, where bands like Paradide Lost, Tiamat,Therion and of course Moonspell were creating a new genre in metal...That i'd call dark metal...This is a masterpeace and you have to got it to round your dark metal collection!...Horns up!...
The beginning of Moonspell February 13, 2008 Very great album, I am glad that Moonspell re-released this album, must listen to to appreciate the talent in Moonspell.
Wow. August 29, 2008 Holy s***.
That's exactly what I said when Tenenbrarum Oratorium started playing. This album is exactly what Moonspell should always be. I love the rerecordings, as I have the original MP3's of all of these songs, but recently rerecorded allow you to see that the band has not forgotten what got them noticed in the first place. Nor have they lost the magic that got them where they are in the first place. If anything, the rerecordings make the originals that much better. Sure, Fernando's voice is much better, much stronger on this recording, but it needed to be done, even if just for the sake of getting this band on the map, which I believe Under Satanae helped to do, even though they were already there. This album epitomizes everything Moonspell is, was, and ever will be. This album is fantastic. Buy it, even if you're just a casual Moonspell fan.
