Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
Two DVD set. On April 12th 2007, UK Gothic Metal pioneers Paradise Lost played a sold-out show at the Koko club in the heart of Camden, London to record a DVD. Fans and media from all over the world came to the beautiful Baroque style venue to celebrate a band that, 20 years since its conception in 1988, is still one of the most exciting bands of their self-defined genre. Guitarist Greg Mackintosh comments: "It is also our first live album in the history of Paradise Lost! It incorporates pretty much every era of our career. Jens Borgen has mixed the DVD and in my opinion he did a sterling job with the mix. It has so much energy to it and you can really feel the atmosphere of this special night! Also Seths' artwork is beautiful as always. For us this is definitely a great way to celebrate our 20th anniversary."

Those of you who own the Evolve DVD and didnt like how the guitars were almost non existant in the mix, well the Anatomy of Melancholy is for you. After an intro you will here one of the new songs of In Requiem, 'the Enemy'. Right away you will notice that the guitars are heavy!!! The next three songs 'Grey', 'Erased', and 'Red Shift' are taken from the Symbol of Life and Paradise Lost album all are good choices from the albums. 'So Much is Lost' off of the subpar album 'Host' actually sounds better on this. The songs 'Sweetness' and 'Pity the Sadness' are the two stand out tacks on this DVD. Nick doesn't seem to enthuised about playing some of the older songs like 'Embers Fire', 'As I Die' and 'Gothic' but not so much that it ruins the songs. They play the only good song from the Beleive in Nothing album 'Mouth' which sound really good live. Another good track from the Symbol of Life album 'No Celebration' sounds really good live. Nick Holmes says some pretty funny stuff ( I'm not sure if he is intending to be funny or if he is being sarcastic but it's funny to me). One complaint is that there is nothing from the Lost Paradise Album and I would have liked to hear a little more from the Draconian Times and Icon albums.
Anyway this a very entertaining show and I have watched numerous times and would recommend it to all Paradise Lost fans.

4 out of 5 stars Very good and complete   September 22, 2008
This gig is very complete, with songs from almost all albuns (except the first one). It's good to listen to the old songs again. The sound is great, band performance is quite good. If you're a Paradise Lost fan, this release is a must have. Very enjoyable.
