Album Description
Traitors is the 2008 album from Misery Index, a Deathgrind band formed in 2001 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA by Jason Netherton (bass, vocals), Mike Harrison (guitar, vocals) and Kevin Talley (drums). As of 2006, its line-up consists of Jason Netherton (bass, vocals), Sparky Voyles (guitar), Mark Kloeppel (guitar, vocals) and Adam Jarvis (drums). Misery Index's music is best described as Death Metal with strong Hardcore Punk and Grindcore influences. Their vein of music is often said to resemble their fellow Maryland brutal death metal outfit Dying Fetus, as Netherton, Voyles, ex-guitarist Greig and ex-drummer Talley are all former members of that band.

What can I say about Misery Index that hasn't already been said? These Nor'easterners certainly have built a reputation for themselves with the endless touring schedules and blistering ear shattering awesomeness that's emanating from my speakers as we speak. I'll say this though, Misery Index have not taken a step back but are pushing themselves forward. This outing while differing from past works has a different feel to it, a type of urgency in the song craft along with the piss and vinegar you would expect. It's the perfect time for a release like this with the November elections just around the corner. If you haven't yet, pick this record up and play it aloud at your nearest protest rally!
