The deluxe DVD is entitled, American Dream, Andrea Bocelli's Statue Of Liberty Concert. Andrea Bocelli fulfilled a personal dream with this spectacular outdoor concert taped under the stars at New Jersey's Liberty State Park in American Dream: Andrea Bocelli's Statue of Liberty Concert. The concert celebrates Italian heritage and musical tradition and honors the immigrant experience with this enchanting evening of famous arias, Neapolitan songs and audience favorites. The CD features selections from Andrea's repertoire and includes "Time To Say Goodbye" in duet with Sarah Brightman from the 4 time platinum selling Romanza CD, "The Prayer" in duet with Celine Dion from the 2 time platinum selling Sogno CD, plus Andrea's favorites "Because We Believe" from his most recent platinum recording Amore, "Melodramma" from Cieli Di Toscana and more. The release will also feature 4 new exclusive recordings: A duet with one of the world's most popular pianists Lang Lang and new David Foster compositions.

There will be a nationally televised concert special airing on PBS - Andrea's first full pop concert that was recorded in July with the Tuscan country side as a backdrop. Andrea Bocelli, the world's most popular tenor (and Best selling) and pop sensation as well, has recorded The Best of Andrea Bocelli, Vivere what is a wonderful collection of his crossover (semi classical pop) songs and is a must for every Bocelli fan. Every song on the CD is wonderful and all the hit songs have been re mastered (or remixed) and sound better than ever.

The Songs include a nice selection of some of Bocelli's best work (it would take a 10 CD set to give us all of his best work-both clasicl and Popular); Bocelli has a very beautiful voice, that expresses much emotion. His tone and diction are excellent and his Volume is much better then the critics claim, he voice is always moving, his singing touches one's heart and goes righ into ones soul. The tracks include Songo; from the Songo album; It may be his best song ever. IL Mare Calmo Della Sera from the Romanza album (and an Earlier Album with the tital IL Mare Clamo Della Sera); this was his first hit and was used my Todd Eldridge, figure Skater, in the Olympics and US championships. Canto Della Sera, from the Songo album; Besame Mucho, from the Amore album; Mille lune Mille Onde, (included on the Delux edition as an extra track and is the song used in the Brilla Pasta advertisement) from Cieili Di Toscana; Time to Say Goodbye-Con Te Partino (with Sarah Brightman), from the Romanza album; Vivo Per Lei (with Giorgia who is an Italian pop star with a wonderful voice) from the Romanza album; Melodrama from the Cieli De Toscana album; The Prayer (with Celine Dion, from the Songo Album and the Quest soundtrack, (as well as Celine Dion albums;) and Because We Believe from the Amore album, the great theme for the Olympic's in Italy.

The songs also include a new English/Italian version of Vivere called Dear To Live; with Laura Pausani a popular Italian singer. A wonderful song called La Voce Del Silenzio; a beautiful song called A TE; A very cool classical song with Lang Lang, on Piano, called IO CI SARO; and another song, very contemporary, called BELLISSIME STELLE which may be my favorite song on the CD.

The Deluxe edition comes with one extra songs as I mentioned above and also a bonus DVD that was 8 live songs from Bocelli's Statue Of Liberty concert, which was recorded back just after the release of the Songo album; and just after His Father died, the concert is very emotional and very beautiful. You can see the wonderful New York City in the background and the Twine towers standing proud. It is a wonderful DVD it looks fantastic and sounds fantastic. My only complete is that its not the whole concert. The whole concert has only been available from PBS as a VHS tape. The 8 songs are La Donna E Mobile; Di Quella Pira; Brindisi-Cavaileria Rusticana; O Soave Fanciull; Santa Lucia Luntana; Torna A Surriento; O Sole Mio; And Brindisi-La Travita. If you can I would pop the few extra bucks for the Deluxe edition and get the DVD.

This is a great CD (and or set) for any Bocelli fan, for the fan because it has the 5 new songs (4 new and one alternative version). And is a great set for new fans because it has many of his hits. this would be a good first CD for someone new to Bocelli.

He's Great, but this CD is not the best December 12, 2007

With Respect to Andrea Bocelli, this is not a good "greatest hits" album for him. In comparison, his Duet album is much better, which is what drove me to buy his greatest hits in the first place.

Perhaps I need to let it sink in more, but so far, I'm not as happy with it as I thought I would be.

Not bad, but compared to the Duet album, should be much better.

To me, unwrapping a Christmas present that includes a beautiful CD/DVD pack such as Andrea Bocelli's DeLuxe Edition of "Vivere" is one of the most wonderful things Christmas is made of. To Patrick and Deanna, a million thanks to both of you for your thoughtfulness! I have been enjoying this lovely CD and the amazing DVD showing Andrea Bocelli's "American Dream" concert at the Statue of Liberty.

The CD has an impressive collection of sixteen songs saturated with beautiful melodies and romantic lyrics flawlessly interpreted by Mr. Bocelli starting off with "La Voce Del Silenzio" to the final track, David Foster's "Because We Believe." His special guests are Laura Pausini in "Vivere," Celine Dion in "The Prayer," Kenny G in "A Te," showcasing his masterful sax playing, Sarah Brightman in "Con Te Partiro," Giorgia in "Vivo Per Lei" and pianist Lang Lang in "Io Ci Saro."

Mr. Bocelli is not only an outstanding singer, but also a lyricist and composer in his own right. Some of the Italian lyrics from the repertoire were written by him and these are "Because We Believe" and "Io Ci Saro." The title track "Vivere" is one remarkable song with meaningful lyric sang in an engaging duet with Laura Pausini. This song was co-written by a team of lyricists and composers namely Gerardina Travato (Italian lyrics), Eugenio Finardi (English lyrics), Celso Valli and Angelo Anastacio (music).

"Vivere non si puo vivere senza passato
Vivere e bello anche se non I'ha chiesto mai
Una canzone ci sara
Sempre qualcuno che la cantera."

It blew me away upon hearing his version of an enduring hit in the forties, "Besame Mucho," which I believe is the most beautiful male vocal version of this classic of a song written and composed by Consuelo Velazquez. My vote for the best female vocal rendition goes to Jackie Ryan in her elegant CD, You and the Night and the Music. Mr. Bocelli's mellow and soothing voice is just the perfect blend for its lovely Bossa Nova arrangement by David Foster giving it the retire-the-trophy-treatment and making it his very own . . . as if saying confidently and supremely: I can deliver the loveliest version of this song and it will be the most beautiful rendition of all, bar none! And he did just that! The enchanting guitar work makes it sound like a beguiling serenade. I listened to it with a few repeats and each time, I find my ears being captivated by it all the more.

My highlights on the DVD presentation are his notable performances of my all-time favorites "O Sole Mio," "Torna A Surriento," "La Donna E Mobile" from Verdi's "Rigoletto," and a couple of stunning duets with Ana Maria Martinez - "O Soave Fanciulla" from Puccini's "La Boheme" and Verdi's "Brindisi - La Traviata."

I had an enjoyable listening experience with this CD, and a delightful viewing of the DVD concert presentation. I'm sure you will, too.

With my heartfelt recommendation for your listening and viewing pleasure forever and a day!

As usual this CD was not a disappointment. I hadn't heard many of the songs he sings but was over joyed with power and rich,ness of his voice. I too enjoyed some of his old familar tunes. For those of you who enjoy Bocelli's music as I do, this CD is a must.

As always Andrea's CD is wonderful. The tracks are well presented @ a joy to listen to. The DVD is also very good. Enjoyed it all very much. Excellent.
