3rd Times a Charm July 2, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
It seems like everytime is the charm with Los Lonely Boys, they again do not disappoint and rather rise yet another notch towards musical greatness. This album sounds like band of gypsies meets SRV live at el mocambo.. killer guitar throughout , much more jammin and heavy songs on this album than their first two. A definite evolution and awesome in my opinion.
Their best CD yet!!! July 2, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love it!!! It's quite different than albums Los Lonely Boys and Sacred. A lot of fantastic blues tunes. Guitarist Henry is becoming a legend in his own right!!! My favorite songs are Loving You Always and I'm A Man. I can hear Hendrix influence. Overall wonderful job by the boys. This album came straight from their heart and will be well received I'm sure.
A Real Gem! July 4, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After listening to the new CD, I can't get enough of them. Like the albums before, this one will not disappoint. I love all the songs, some more than others. But I especially love the title track "Forgiven", "Heart won't tell a lie" and "Superman". They continue to churn out some great songs. Love Them!!!
Five Stars! It grooves and it rocks! July 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just heard this new release by Los Lonely Boys and I love it! It has a live sound to it- feels like you are right there at one of their concerts. The lead vocals and harmonies work great on all the songs. The signature guitar riffs are there- for all you fans of lead guitarist Henry! This is a CD that is very enjoyable- the kind you will listen to while driving in your car or BBQing in your backyard. It reminds me of their first CD, but with a more mature and fuller sound. Favorites: Forgiven, Heart Won't Tell A Lie, I'm a Man, Superman.
A return to form for LLB July 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This CD is more like the first LLB record, which is the best effort by the Garza brothers. "Sacred" had a depressing feeling to it and wasnt as good at what LLB do best. And what they do best is soulful blues with harmony. "Forgiven" is a well written and performed album. It does have a more bluesy feel then the last record. My only real complaint is that most of the songs are under 4 minutes.
These guys are truly some of the most gifted musicians on the planet.
