 Good, but not quite a "Rush" March 22, 2008

I'd seen "August Rush" and enjoyed how the predictable movie played out. One knew the ending, but not how it was going to get there. I also enjoyed the music, which is why I ordered the soundtrack. As with many soundtracks these days, there are a lot of songs stuffed into the background and during the running of the credits which do little or nothing to help the movie along. They do, however, fill out a CD--it's a marketing thing. The American edition of the "Love Actually" comes to mind. It didn't even contain the two main love themes in the movie--thank God the internet made it possible to get the British version.
The "August Rush" CD does contain more of the actual music from the film and that makes it worthwhile and enjoyable, it's just that after hearing it, one wishes there was more in the movie and on the CD.

This movie stands out as a classic in my book. Very few movies move me to tears or impact me on all levels. The cast was outstanding, the score was perfect, the story line was unpredictabe and well written. This story deals with hope, purpose and music. To God be the glory for giving us gifts and the ability to express them. I was floored with the movie and HAD to download the soundtrack and buy the cd. This inspired me to pick up my keyboard after many years of not playing!

I have listened to this soundtrack every day for weeks now! I love it! I looked up the lyrics online so that I can better sing along :)) The music is uplifting and beautifully performed. I think it is great that Jonathan did his own singing, what a strong and passionate voice! And loved that Leon Thomas III did his own singing as well as the other young woman, what powerful and sweet voices for someone so young. The music fit perfectly with the movie. I also loved how the classical pieces flowed into the rock songs. The music really was a plot point in itself. The guitar playing was outstanding as well. Very inspirational!!!!

I am a movie and music lover and this was a special treat to me. I always appreciate how music enhances a movie but in this case it was such a part of the movie we had to get the sound tract and the movie. I loved the whole idea of the movie, and didn't care if it was predictable. I think it was well done, had a great cast and was a breath of fresh air in a world were nothing is left to the imagination anymore.

The movie August Rush was absolutely wonderful and the music is even better! This soundtrack is fantastic and the entire August Rhapsody is on there. I was worried that since it was so long it wouldn't all be on the cd, but it is! I highly recommend this soundtrack to anyone who is a fan of music!
