Strange, I never heard of her until recently, but wow...Natasha is VERY VERY GOOD. I love her songs - actually most all of them. I love the tunes, I love the beat, I love the words - awesome! Would love to go her concert. Pocketful of Sunshine is fantastic - hope it wins awards! She is extremely talented.

Shades of Jamaica, mon! Bedingfield heads off for the Caribbean with a few reggae-influenced tracks on her second US album, which is packed with music for easy listening on lazy sunny days.
Very different from her first album, this one is a little slicker in the production, and the lyrics more formulaic, but the feel-good aspect shines through in every track. A few more upbeat tracks wouldn't have hurt, but when she goes mellow, she sounds like Corinne Bailey Rae.
The hit of the album is "Love Like This" featuring Sean Kingston, an infectious reggae/hip hop track, but you should also try:
"Put Your Arms Around Me" - a sweet sing-a-long and sway number
"Pocketful of Sunshine" - a little faster track with an electro-pop beat
"Piece of Your Heart" - nice piano intro to a jazzy track
"Soulmate" - a slow pop ballad about finding that special someone
"Say it Again" featuring Adam Levine (Maroon 5) - pop song with a pleasant melody that reminds me of "Unwritten"
"Angel" - all together now, "A-N-G-E-L"
"Freckles" - sounds a bit like Katie Melua
The momentum peters out in the last few tracks, but you can try the above-mentioned songs from this pocket-sized burst of sunshine for an early taste of summer.

I bought the cd for only 2 songs on there tha tI liked when I got the cd I listened to the whole thing and just absolutaly love every song on there.... it is very upbeat but very relaxing to listen to at the same time wtg good job on this cd

This cd couldn't have a more apt title. It is beautiful, and truly like sunshine on a rainy day. The songs are upbeat, positive, feel good - exactly what my life needs right now. I love this cd even more than Unwritten, & that's saying a lot. I'm sitting here at my desk, bopping away to it as I type this. I dare you to not move when you listen to it.
The songs are perfect for her unmistakable, incredible voice and beautiful runs. I was going to try to pick favorite tracks, but I just can't, because I love them all.
Buy this cd, you won't regret it, & I bet it will become a favorite.

With a compilation of songs from her true sophomore album, N.B., only released in the U.K., and new work, Natasha Bedingfield serves up 'Pocketful of Sunshine', a refreshing album that outshines her previous album by far. Fans of Sara Bareilles and Colbie Caillat will delight over these songs. Here are my personal opinions of each:
1.) Put Your Arms Around Me- ****
This is a great opener. While the lyrics aren't very meaningful, the tune is happy and melodic. An over all of four stars because I don't enjoy the ping-y sound of the machines in the background.
2.) Pocket Full of Sunshine- ***
Again, with the unnatural machine noise! While I enjoy the song, I wouldn't listen to it on repeat, because this doesn't hold the originality of most of Natasha's songs. Three stars- I feel like it's too commercial.
3.) Happy- *****
One of the best songs I've heard of her. I like the lyrics and the message of the song. The chorus is cute and screams of summer hit. I think that this song will especially delight Sara Bareilles fans, because the intro strongly reminds me of one of her songs. However, this song is plenty original, and easy to listen to on repeat, as the song is great for a pleasing, happy spring/summer ambiance. Five stars!
4.) Love Like This- ****
A good song, but there isn't much to comment on. It's not as original as some of the other ones, but not bad. Four stars.
5.) Piece of Your Heart- ****
Different from some of the other songs on this album- less "happy summer hit", it reminds me of her previous album, Unwritten, where the songs somewhat slower and more moody. It's good that she has a variety of sons on the album. Four stars.
6.) Soulmate- *****
Again, a slower song. This one had a rippling guitar rhythm and a soft, cool voice. Very beautiful.
7.) Say it Again- ***
Cute,but the chorus is a little repeatitive.I like some of the lines, but it isn't the strongest song on the album.
8.) Angel- ***
Very different from most of her other songs. The machines work for her this time, because this song is more rap-oriented. It reminds me of Beyonce. Again, a mediocre 3. The middle of this album looses some steam.
9.) Backyard- *****
Picking up the steam that it lost before, the songs make a gentle comeback with this sweet, melodic, reminiscent song. It has an enticing atmosphere. Five stars.
10.) Freckles- *****
This song is the best one on the album. It has an incredibly empowering message and makes listeners smile. It shows the side of Natasha that I like most as a singer. Less mechanical, Freckles is refreshing and happy. "Why waste a second/ Not loving who you are?" These lyrics are great. I love this song! If you don't buy the whole album, t least buy this one!
11.)Who Knows- ****
This song is... different. In a good way, it's not like many other songs I've heard. For some reason, this song reminds me of a boardwalk. The chords give off a mysterious aroma, and the song is more girl-oriented, like "Single" in her last album. If only is didn't have those horrible mechanical parts all the time! You can't pick up on them throughout the song, but then she stops singing, all the instruments stop, and all you can hear is an 80's-esque symphony of machinery. I kept giving this five stars, and then I'd hear the chorus that sounds remarkably like a bad cell phone ringtone and change my mind. I would give it five stars if they cut out those awful parts. Luckily, they don't destroy the rest of the song. Four stars.
12.) Pirate Bones- ***
This song feels a little last-minute and uninspired. She compares herself like pirate bones, and I think that this time they actually used a cell phone to record the sound of dialing. It may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but now it comes off as hastened and average.
13.) Not Givin' Up- ****
The start of this song didn't seem very promising, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. The disco-y beginning was not the best choice, but it's a good dance song- very energetic. Four stars.
Over all, this album gets 4 stars. I would give it 5 stars for 'Freckles' alone, but, while I'm no math genius, I know that that wouldn't be a proper average. The album is uplifting and pleasing in general. I enjoy the bits of guitar and piano. This album much is better than the previous one, and you can see Natasha grow as an artist. Hats off to you, Ms. Bedingfield!
