Sorry G-unit/50 lovers this album does not cut it PERIOD! July 3, 2008 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
First off I want to start off by saying I am not a 50/Unit hater, I do not like 50 as a person but I love music and will always buy new albums to get my fix when a new one hits stores. Beg for Mercy was by far a great album in every aspect, from the production to the lyrics. Back then Lloyd and Young Buck had no names for themselves yet this being there first album, and Yayo was in prison(Thank God, that guy is the worst hype man ever) But this album is coming off 4 years of fake beefs (Ja,Fat Joe, Jada, Game, Scarface, T.I., Lil Wayne, the list goes on) and the apparent crumble of the "Units" empire. Everyone from Mobb Deep, to Young Buck, and even trashy Oliver... I mean Olivia were all released from 50's label. Thus creating more anticipation and drama leading to T.O.S. release. I must say I was hoping this would be at least half way decent, bottom line, IT IS NOT! With what seems to be a rush to put together some songs after releasing Buck from the label to prove a point that they could make a good album without him, you can tell this is what happened because the couple songs that do feature Buck state on the album Ft. Young Buck... It just lacks in overall sound. It is not only the same lyrics we are all use to hearing on mostly every rap song in the last decade, but it is done over horrible beats with the exception of maybe 3 songs, and done very sloppy on every other level. If I could give this 0 Stars I would, I regret spending money on this album BUT since I am a collector this will go into the cd book and it will sit there, while its counter part Beg For Mercy gets played on occasion.
IT'S THE UNIT! July 2, 2008 6 out of 15 found this review helpful
You know, Music is always well worth the money, for a little bit over $10 or so, you can have months and years of joy from this CD. This CD is a great, you need to buy a copy even if you downloaded it to support the artist for their hardwork and time. G-unit is back (like they never left), 50 cent is hardworking and this ablum proves it. Very hot tracks. BUY it today.
Just not very good July 9, 2008 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
Starting to think that 50 just has no talent other than at self-promotion. No hooks, no nothing on this album which should have been titled P.O.S. instead of T.O.S.
