Classic Nightwish December 10, 2004 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Over the Hills and Far Away is a great sounding album. It has three studio tracks one remake of Astral Romance and six of their more well known songs in a live version. What can I say this is another hit by one of my favorite bands of all time. Although I cannot say it is my favorite album, it is a great album for anyone who enjoys Nightwish's other albums.
Worth the money. May 19, 2005 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ive been a long time fan of nightwish so naturally im going to be a little biased but hey,Anyways this is not an album as such moreso an EP, Its Just 3 new tracks,a remake and a bunch of live stuff.Yet its worth buying just for the new tracks.Over the hills and far away is a gary moore cover (dont ask me who the hell he is)but is played to the point of being one of nightwishes own tracks.10th man down is a brilliant fast paced track with a killer melody and fits perfectly with tarjas voice, and Away is without doubt one of nightwishes Best ever Ballads. The live stuff is taken from the Wishes to eternity Cd/DVD and trust me they sound just as good live as they do on Cd.
Awesome! September 24, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm not a longtime fan of Nightwish, nor am I an expert on music. All I can say is that this CD is flippin' SWEET, go buy it!
I was first introduced to Nightwish via YouTube of all places, where I saw sort of a "music video" of the Real Ghostbusters set to "10th Man Down." The more I watched the video, the more I loved the song...so I set out to buy the album that it was from. And I'm glad I did! I guess I would describe them as "Metallica" meets the "Trans-Siberian Orchestra," if that fits.
Nightwish scores again August 24, 2005 I have to say that this is one of the best by nightwish. So far I have at least 4 cd's by them and they are priceless additions to my collection. Any metal fan, regardles of type, should purcahse this. It has some of their best pieces on it. Trust me Nightwish is both powerful and meditative at the same time. A true masterpiece.
My first Nightwish CD March 11, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can't remember how I stumbled upon this group, but I liked the sample enough to give it a try. Having never heard them before, my reaction/opinion is strictly without any preconceived idea of how it should sound. Saying that, I really like the instrumental or orchestral part. I have to say the vocals are just a little too drama oriented for me. I picture characters from the World Wrestling Alliance in love! So personally, I like the music but kind of wish they'd shut up so I could take it more seriously.
