Album of the Year Contender May 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This band is astouding in their longevity, originality and qualtity of music. Truly one of THE best bands in the country for their musicanship, heart-felt lyrical content and memorable songs, album after album. "XV" which was going to be called "Go Tell Somebody" is so strong from the first listen that it will be remembered as an important work which will surely add several songs to their powerful live set. These songs are streamlined, heavy and infectious, with sing-along choruses that have confidence in their simplicity when that is all that the song requires. Buy this album and then buy any King's X album that you do not already own because they, and you, deserve it.

They've gone and surprised me! June 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I held off buying this album 'till a couple of weeks after release; I love this band, but something didn't quite work for me with their previous effort, 'Ogre tones'.Now I have it, I can't believe what a wonderful listen it is.The main improvement is a whole album where the songs all work together in the order they're in, and they are delivered in a pacey confident manner, sometimes running into each other. The album deserves listening right through ,start to finish (I cannot do this with Ogre Tones).
Great production too, Tys guitar sounds awesome.Previous reviewers have said it all about the songs, though for me the highpoints are 'Blue' and 'free' - they really rock in this one.
I so hope the guys are recognised for this very fine album.

It took me a while to get Mr. Bulbous but once I did it WAS my favorate album. Other albums had some good tunes that grew on me more and more after each listen and show I went to(not a huge ear candy fan though) but this album..... I can't stop playing it, It grabs you by the twobitz and doesn't let go. best king's x album yet!!
One of their most concise June 25, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This King' X classic, as I now call it came as a big surprise.I haven't really like their last releases but this one really rocks. The songs done by Doug : Pray and Alright are really good, along with all the songs done by Doug All of the musicians are getting better and have remained polished after all these years. I admit I misjudged that these guys were washed up .
The only complaint are Ty's songs are too slow and make no mark on.i jUST wANNA LIVE sounds so succy that I wanna barf on Randy. Julie is a Tom Petty throwback,it stinks too. These songs are too bad to consider them classic material. Also, They are slow, sluggish and have no substance. Other than that, this is a true return to the true King's X sound. BAD AZZ !!!!!
