Buy this July 29, 2007 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
if you like generic EBM. Not only is their look (we get it, EBM and medical stuff goes hand in hand, ok we get it, YOU ARE NOT ORIGINAL)but the lyrics are so painfully trite.
The missing link between disco and industrial... March 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great sounbding CD.....even more amazing seeing how the duo are an Australian act. Great pace for the songs, full of cyber punk attitude and pulsing, almost house beats. All of this combined with the sharp lyricism makes this an album worth buying for anyone into KMFDM/MDFMK, Static-X, Celldweller or the such.
100%!!! February 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I first discovered Angelspit on a hair website that Destroyx used to run. I sampled some of their music and found it to be pretty intense in a good way. I was surprised to find their CD in my local mall; I didn't think they had hit the states yet. Anyway, I bought it.
The tunes differ from one track to the next. Unlike most industrial albums (well, most albums in general), where the beats and vocals get monotonous by the 5th song, Angelspit has a unique way of doing just the opposite. I credit it to the fact that with some songs, Destroyx's vocals are the most prominent, while on others, ZooG's are. Also, their song subjects are the most interesting I've heard. I have had the CD for a few months and have yet to get bored with it. I'm very taken with the fact that they explore "industrial medicine" with their music and with their choice in clothing.
I find Krankhaus to be a great driving/video game soundtrack.
Their first album, "Nurse Grenade" is also a great set. In 2008, they are preparing for a new release.
Absolutely amazing! December 15, 2007 Now one of my most played albums on my iPod, I found out about them from a link in iTunes. Intricate lyrics you have to can listen to without getting bored from repetitive-ness. Of course, they have refrains, and you may get tired of them, but the other verses are original and better than mainstream stuff by far! Even though they're Aussies, you normally can't tell (except on dead letter or if you're really listening!) that they have an accent. All in all, the lyrics, distortion-vocals and beat, they are all wonderful!
