5 out of 5 stars Live on the fabulous Sunset Strip   January 24, 2002
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

One of the best live rock albums. Having the fortune of seeing X a decade after-the-fact (sometime in 2000 at the Axis in Boston), I can say that they rocked just as hard as this album. Billy Zoom with his splay-legged stance and ... grin. DJ Bonebrake crashing the heads. Exene and John Doe belting out the punkabilly pop gems. The only complaint is that the original cassette release contained one of the finest live cuts that is NOT included (Someone tell me why) on the CD - True Love. But that is hardly enough to keep me from recommending this to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars One album on a desert island? This one, no question.   November 28, 2002

Without a doubt, my favorite album(CD) of all time. If you don't own it, you really should. If you do own it, maybe it's time to give it another listen. If forced to give up all the music I own save one CD, I'd pick this one without hesitating.

5 out of 5 stars If you can only take one X Cd to an island-   December 9, 2002

Take this one....Please! If you like rock and roll, punk, alt... any or all of these etc....this is the one I'd take out of my whole collection. If you want the concert experience while sorting laundry, mopping the floor, or breaking up with your lover-BUY THIS ONE!~Thanks to all the members of X for being the greatest!

4 out of 5 stars One of the Best Live Alblums I ever heard   September 24, 1998

When I think of the 10 or so best live alblums of all time this is definately up there. While most live alblums offer poor sound and distorted songs, this alblums plays it just right. This alblum makes you feel "there".

5 out of 5 stars Nothing but the finest, even without Billy Z   February 8, 2001

Despite the lack of x's original proto-rockabilly/punk innovator this album is an amazing showcase. Having seen the band many times this album does capture the energy they throw off in waves. There is no song on here that is not exceptional; from the the frenetic riffing of 'Year One' to the laid back groove of the break in 'Devil Doll'. If you are only going to own one album, this should be it. And if you own more than one, shame on you for not owning this one.
