1 out of 5 stars Cough. Hack.   January 3, 2008

Just what I need, some sissy boy whining over a clatter emanating from the IT closet. Chopsticks and voice-activated gameboy chatter; casio groans and simulated needlepoint pollution. I've said it all before, they've said it all before. Check out my laptop, me whackjobbin' over some phriendster phunk.

I'm nice and sleepy now, aren't you? Lullabitch. Tonguesilled entreaties. "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi?" (Clap, clap) Didn't Steely Dan already steal that riff from Sly Stone back when Nixon was playing Caped Crusader in the broom closet? ...

Anyhow, the main reason I'm writing this review today is to let everyone know that my brain surgery was a success and, keep your fingers crossed, the doctor says I might one day regain my wits -- but it's going to take years and years of therapy.

1 out of 5 stars Unworthy of the hype   January 22, 2008

First off, I'm not a Radiohead fan. I know they're incredibly talented guys capable of amazing music, but I think that they rarely live up to that potential. I've even coined the phrase "Radiohead syndrome" to describe bands whose output is 20% mind-blowing genius and 80% fair-to-terrible. But until now, I've continued to hear them out, in the hopes that they'd eventually produce a whole album that dazzled me. (For the record, I even paid a more-than-fair price to download this album.) Unfortunately, In Rainbows clocks in at way under 20%, with no songs at all that really do anything for me. I can't help wondering whether any other casual observers love this album, or if it's just the rabid fans. Either way, I'm officially convinced that Radiohead's style is never going to intersect with mine in the way that I'd hoped, so I think I'm done listening to them.

2 out of 5 stars Their least replayable album in years   January 2, 2008

I love the late Radiohead. For me, "Kid A" and "Hail to the Thief" are beyond 5 star albums. They are extremely strong, and I turn to them again and again for their mood, lyrics, and energy. "Rainbows" by contrast is far from memorable. I try to listen to it, but after the first couple of listens, it actually got worse. Lacks imagination and energy. I'd take the monotonous spaces of Amnesiac over the thinness of this effort.

1 out of 5 stars I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE FUZZ IS ALL ABOUT !   January 2, 2008

Radiohead was an amazing band from Pablo Honey to OK Computer. Then came the new millenium. Kid A... sucked, Hail To The Theif... sucked, pretty much everything they've done since KID A is lame ! They betrayed the first fans, I've been a huge fan of theirs since Pablo Honey in '93. Back then it was my favorite band because their second album just improved, their third surprisingly improved The Bends which I thought back then was waaay too difficult to follow. By OK Computer I idolized these guys, I knew their fourth album would be even better !! Guess what, KID A made me cry because they showed too much decline from their original post grunge, which would by THE BENDS become alt. rock, sound. I said "man, the fans will hate Radiohead after the stunt they did". In my opinion their new millenium sound is TERRIBLE AND DISGUSTING. I hate techno or electronic music, whatever you want to call it, it's the same bs that we hear at lame clubs and other mediocre non-rock artists. When I bought KID A I literally cried tears. Then threw the record away, 18 bucks I never ever saw again. Now, I've decided to give it a try once again. But they still suck after 8 years without me listening to them. So goodbye Radiohead forever. I'll stick to their early stuff and kiss 'em goodbye. You've lost a big big fan.

1 out of 5 stars Radiohead's lowest point.   January 6, 2008

This was a great disappointment. I don't understand how a band like this can fall so far. Its no wonder they put this on the internet so you can pay your own price. Every song is pure torture especially when you realize how great this band was. It's an irritating to hear the singer whine on and on about nothing. I am sorry to say that I will never buy another Radiohead cd again.
