Another HIM classic October 21, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a fairly new HIM fan, and in the short 3 months I've even known about them they've in my mind went from being completely unknown (other than a few Viva La Bam episodes), to being my favorite band. This album is excellent, as are all of their albums, the songs are beautifully crafted, with deep, meaningful lyrics. Many people have the misconception that you'll only like HIM if you're goth, this is not true at all. I'm not goth and I think HIM is the best band in the world right now. Best song: In Joy and Sorrow
SKIP THIS AND BRING YOUR BUTT TO THE PAGE WITH RAZORBLADES AND LOVE METALS October 26, 2005 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
i am coming up on my 1 year aniversary of becoming a HIM fan. They are great musicians and this review does not have the intention of sending you on another bands path. With that said, this review is strictly to help all of u newcomers out there who have to deal with the decison of picking one of the 5 studio alubums(6 including Daniel Lioneye and the joint rollers) by HIM. If you want to know the reason so many people love and respect their music get out of here and bring your butt to Razorblade Romance. This album is definetly their worst. Thats all there is to it and theres nothing wrong with it. Razorblade Romance was a tough act to follow and for me, who would rather surf the net looking for Daniel lioneye interviews than to start a project thats half my grade, Deep Shadows and Brillant HIghlights, save two songs, was ultimetly a dissapointment. DOnt Worry! they redeem themselves with Love Metal. Whats Wrong with it? Every song sounds the same, Danny plays accoustic on 8 out of the 10 songs, which my Metalheads can agree made them teary inside, and the ending song, LOVE U LIKE I DO, for me is so bad i skip over it with my CD player and pretend theres only 9 songs on this suggestivly pink and purple CD. Anything worth it? Well it does complete one's HIM collection, and, ironically, one of the best songs Ville has ever written is number 2, HEARTACHE EVERY MOMENT which is the best performance video i have seen in years. i dont wanna be too harsh, i just will have a guilty concince if some poor kid somwhere spends their allowance on the wrong CD. Its worth it to collectors though.

Worth All The Money Spent July 21, 2005 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
This CD, out of all the HIM CDs I own (which would be 3) is one that connected to me the most.
Songs such as "Salt In Our Wounds" that have a great guitar solos to softer more ballad like songs like "Close To The Flame" really put this CD together.
If I had to choose 3 songs that would probably grab other peoples attention, they'd probably be "Pretending", "In Joy And Sorrow", and "Beautiful". But that's just my opinion.
Overall, this CD is worth all the money I spent. HIM is one of my most favorite bands, besides all the other rock bands I love to listen to. They definitely pulled it off on this CD.
I LOVE VILLE VALO AND IF YOU THINK HIM SUCKS BLOW IT OUT YOUR ASS!!

Very good album, very melodic although lighter that Razorblade Romance. In joy and sorrow is the best song without doubts. And Valo's voice is a lot better than in the others albums. I recommend it to all HIM Fans, just buy it!
