It is just absolutely amazin to hear her voice, so smooth, strong, soul reachin and beautiful...She is can make her voice really strong yet not overpowering and just pulls the listener in, love that it has edge and power yet sweet!
Remarkable... November 23, 2005
After an exceptional debut with the album "Enter", many fans felt a little bit dissapointed with "Mother Earth", a very operistic piece compared with brutal songs like Deep Within (from Enter). Overall, Mother Earth is not a bad album, but too different from the first one. Silent Force is, in some way, a coming back to their roots, with nice vocals but also with the taste of real metal. In this release (imported from the UK) are included a couple of bonus tracks (Destroyed & Jane Doe) and a DVD with four songs from a Germany concert. The production of the DVD was remarkable: high quality video and superb audio. A videoclip (Stand my Ground) is also included, and seems there was enough budget because is really well done. Before ordering it, make sure your DVD player can handle the PAL format, otherwise you won't be able to watch it.

I have been craving this CD since May of last year when I first heard about it, and now that I finally got it, I can say this confidently. Within Temptation is for real! They are probably the BEST Symphonic Rock group I have ever heard my entire life! This is the only CD in my collection (of all my CDs) that I can listen it all the way through and do it again. The songs are THAT good! This CD earns a perfect rating of 5 out of 5.

I can't really say I'm unbiased in this but then again that is what reviews are for. I was introduced to WT with this album and it is solid goodness throughout. WT are often compared to Evanescence but the vocals of Sharon, the lead of WT as well as the overall 'sound' of the band makes WT by far the better of the two.
If you are new to Within Temptation prepare for a whole new sound than I dare say anything you ever heard. There's a richness to the range of the instruments used and the vocals are out of this world. The voice is haunting and the songs stay with you. It is in short an amazing album and while this may not initially sound like your taste, try it out, I guarantee you will not regret it!
A Deal at Twice the Price April 13, 2007
This CD was worth every penny: soulful, operatic, and yet still grounded in fire-and-fury, balls-out rock. "Stand My Ground" is a beautiful testimony to strenth and individuality, "Aquarius" gains points for the mythology reference, and "Angels" simply stunning. If you need a reason to by the CD, listen to "Angels."
