Definitely worth your while! September 14, 2007 I absolutely love this album. Its music is rich with inspiration and beauty. It's funny because I actually stumbled on this group. The first song I heard from them is Memories in a Champions League special highlights program. And then I was just taken away by this album. It really puts you at ease, and its metallic but yet peaceful rythm can really calm you down. Definitely recommend this.
For being silent, this force sure sounds beautiful November 18, 2007 I love all Within Temptation songs, but this album really holds the best of them. If you're a fan of very dynamic music like Nightwish or The Lord of the Rings soundtracks, then I believe you'll enjoy this.
How is it you never hear of these guys in the US? January 17, 2008 First off, the music is a blend of rock and symphonic arrangements with a female vocalist. She definitely seems to have classic operatic training, but this aspect is definitely not overdone. This is powerful stuff, as near as I can tell they have a huge following in Europe but are much less well known in the US. Too bad our horizons are so narrow sometimes, this group is well worth checking out.
must for a fan February 9, 2008 I listen to this CD constantly. Bought it specifically for "angels" and fell in love with all the other songs. It's not as "hard" as The Heart of Everything, more focused on Sharon Den Adel's voice. However each song has it's own power to it, still bringing the "rock". They should have released this CD first in the US in my opinion.
A Fantastic CD May 20, 2008 Sharon is the best singer/performer I have ever seen. Since WT doesn't tour the US much get the CD and DVD. You won't be dissapointed. I liked all the tracks except for one which had some male growling (beauty beast). I actually like one of the beauty beast tracks called Candles. Usually I skip any such song, but I like that one. Most songs are melodic with Sharon doing wonderful vocal work.
I liked this CD so much I didn't listen to Mother Earth (Which I bought at the same time as Silent Force) for a while. Mother Earth is really a good CD too.
Also check out Sharon singing the "The Promise" (From Mother Earth) live on Youtube. The Live at Taubertal 2003 version is excellent. This is as close to heaven as you are going to find here on earth. The astounding thing is you can watch almost any WT video on Youtube and they are all well done. Sharon and the band just don't make many mistakes.
I personally prefer Silent Force and Mother Earth to The Heart of Everything. The vocals on the Heart of Everything seem more processed and less natural to me. I hope the band returns to the Silent Force / Mother Earth Style.
