O maravilhoso mundo dos THE CURE January 20, 2007 1 out of 8 found this review helpful
DVD a nao perder.Excelente.
Excellent June 1, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is an awesome DVD! Any die hard Cure fan will love it! It's dark, it's dreary...it's The Cure! What more can be said?
A Return To the Core of the Cure July 4, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been a Cure fan since 1987. The Cure is best interpreted live. This concert sees the return of Porl Thompson, one of the architects of the Cure sound from 85's Head On The Door to 92's Wish. With guitar driven soundscapes this concert delivers a fresh new live experience. Performing 30 songs over 9 different venues, Festival 2005 has a song for every Cure fan. Good flow of songs and excellent production make this one of the best Cure concerts available on DVD.
A Guitar Band At Its Finest July 20, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What many newer fans of The Cure may not realize is that they started out as an all guitar band. Robert Smith wanted to be the next Hendrix, but once Matthieu Hartley came on board with keyboards it seemed like the thing to add at the time (Lol Tolhurst giving up the drums later on to take on this post, as well as eventually Perry Bamonte and Roger O'Donnell ). This video proves that they never need them and that Robert Smith and Porl Thompson are two very under-rated guitarists. It is amazing what they are adding without the aid of the keyboard. It gives a slight jagged edge to sounds that one became use to hearing, and they are defiantly better for it. I hope this continues and should be a must have for any Cure fan at any age.
Not as good as "Trilogy" September 29, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This DVD is far inferior to The Cure's "Trilogy" DVD. This DVD is poorly filmed, and the special effects graphics on some of the songs are annoying. Still, if you're a true Cure fan, this DVD is worth owning.
