Wow, top 3 albums of Gamma Ray. January 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was surprised they were doing a Land of the Free Pt 2, because not all the current band lineup was on that album, and when Benji and Dan joined, they produced amazing albums. Powerplant pt 2 would have been the best, I thought. But anyways about this album. This album is a huge surprise. It's soo good it's unreal. Fast, and energetic songs, with Kai's voice sounding like his earlier stuff. I thought Majestic lacked a little especially in the vocals(Kai sounded a bit old). This is definately in my top 3 GR albums, though I love every album of theirs and believe they can't put out a bad album. Powerplant being my favorite, then No World Order, then this album. Get it for sure! There's even a song that sounds like Maiden on the Powerslave album. To Mother Earth is my favorite right now, but every song is amazing, no lie. And the solos are sick. Any fan of GR will not be disappointed, and if they are, contact me and we'll discuss it.
Just because it's Gamma Ray................. February 10, 2008 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Ok, Ok, don't shoot me, but I've had this album downloaded since October or November (not sure when I got it, but it's been awhile) and I just can't get into it too much. Empress and Rain are good, but the rest hasn't gotten me. Real World is kinda cheesy (not in the good Manowar or Rhapsody way, more in the Final CountDown way, even though the two are unrelated). Other than that I thought Majestic was and still is way better. I like the darker overtones, and it seemed heavier. No World Order is still their best. Maybe I'll change my mind when I find a copy of it in a store (who knows, it's sometimes possible to find good bands in stores, sometimes) and can listen to it with the sound it deserves (I hate the way MP3s sound and that could be a reason that I don't like it) and maybe change my mind. Until then it's average at best.
Long live power metal April 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Kay Hansen and co. are back to bring a very fine album a nice work of guitar all along the album. A nice piece of power metal.
Best Iron Maiden (Gamma Ray) ablum in years! February 10, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This album is awsome, I absouluty love it but what the hell it with all the rip offs from Iron Madien and a little bit less of Judas Priest. Thats my only beef with the album, 5/5 for everything except originality which gets 2/5.
Great album March 8, 2008 Anyone looking to expand there music collection needs to buy this album. If you like Helloween and bands like Hammerfall get this album. This is the first of Gamma Ray's that I have purchased and I'm definitely getting more. Killer guitar work and screaming vocals for the metal heads out there.
