Teaching some lessons March 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Like the title says....old school thrash is it.Hopefully to teach bands like avenged sevenfold a lesson or two. This cd is great at the first listen. It put some new hope and blood into my veins for music nowadays.I am tired of this over produced generic rock and metal! Now listen up boys and girls,Buy this cd,listen and Rock!
Great Music March 11, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I must agree with the last reviewer, this CD rocks hard. Their last release "the art of dying" was decent, but was only a warmup for this talented band. Killing season is their heaviest album since the first one, and their best along with ACT 3. Support these guys and pick this baby up!
best album of 2008 so far March 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Killing Season grows on you very quick. Lots of variation from song to song. I think this one replaces Act III as my favorite Death Angel album. Keep up the great work gentlemen. How about playing the Blank Club again?
Killer Album March 31, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Another great album from Death Angel. They are truly back. Act III is one of my all time favorite albums. Not sure yet if this one is as complete of an album as Act III, but it is definelty growing on me. This album is far better than The Art of Dying and has some tracks that are classic Death Angel. Dethroned is one of my favorite tracks. A must have for any Death Angel or thrash metal fan. Great album.
Excellent Metal Album June 4, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been listening to this one constantly since picking it up a few weeks ago. Picked it up along with the new Testament album, which is also very good - but I like this one better. I've never been a big fan of Death Angel. Despite owning Act III, which is ok, I've just been sort of been indifferent to them. Heard a song off this album on a sampler cd with a magazine and read a lot of good reviews and decided to give this album a try. Incredible. I don't listen to a lot of new metal bands, as I'm not a big fan of the growling death metal vocal style, which almost every new band seems to use. Anyway, Death Angel keeps their sound/style, but doesn't sound dated on this album. The songs are great, strong riffing and solos and the choruses have melody. The best part of all - each song is very distinguishable and identifiable. I am enjoying this album so much, I decided I had to write a review to encourage anyone on the fence about picking it up to go ahead and do so; it will make you happy.
