Welcome to the Industrial Industry! June 30, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This CD is very well one of the best Christian industrial albums of the decade. What are the most energetic songs? THERE ARE NONE! Klank brings out the rough side in every song. His vocals are among the most intimidating in the Christian industrial industry. He brings expresses all of the emotions that can be expressed in music; hate, love, confusion, etc. The songs that are my personal favorites are Downside, Animosity, Leave, and Woodensoul. Klank can't really be compared to anybody. Well, he used to be the guitarist for Circle of Dust, in their debut, self-titled project, so I guess Circle of Dust would be the best comparison. Another kind of similar comparison would be Paramaecium. Well, Klank has a great style that he plays and if you like industrial music, buy Klank / Still Suffering.
Its depressing but good November 25, 1999 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Its good musically but he should praise God a little more I know where he is coming from though if he would just get out of his past and scream about the love that rescued him from pain he'd be amazing
KMFDM GONE CHRISTIAN December 8, 1999 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
All of you people saying "Oh it's good, but he should praise God more...." You Church goers like that are really begining to tick me off. Can't you appreciate the music for what it is? CAN'T YOU SEE THE GOOD IN THINGS/PEOPLE INSTEAD OF THE BAD!This is an excellent album. If you like KMFDM/MDFMK... You'll like Klank reguardless if your Christian or not.
An Industrial Classic October 19, 2001 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
ok, to start out, I first heard Klank (a.k.a. Daren Diolosa) on an out of print Tooth and Nail Records sampler, and to tell ya the truth, I received a major headache. The contributions to this headache? 1.) at the time, I was a little 8th grade kid who was weaned on dc talk and audio adrenaline ( and had only recently discovered squad 5-0, mortal, etc). 2.) we were driving very fast down a road (coming back from a youth convention) and 3.) the song was so friggin' amazing that I played it over and over at EXCESSIVELY loud volumes! ok, to detract any assumptions (so as not to get hate-mail later for misleading you) Klank does NOT talk all that much in reference to Christ, so if your gonna do like you did to MxPx a few years ago and ostracize him ( those of you reading it who did this, you KNOW WHO YOU ARE!) then, go grab Mortal or Skillet for your industrial fix. What Klank does deliver here though, is gut-wrenching and honest tales of betrayel, grief, anger and suffering. Coming from a home where I was abused by my mom for 17 years, I can relate to this record a WHOLE lot! As Klank himself says in the liner notes, only a select few will understand his lyrics, so don't make judgements, not everything that is christian has to talk about christ, look in the bible, (ecclesiastes, lamentation, song of songs, job, etc) there are many feelings and emotions that christians go through, and if dealed with in a Godly and healthy perspective, they're ok. Let Klank be your soundtrack to get it off your system, and if you get the chance, check out other bands like Klank such as Circle of Dust (now disbanded) AP2 (formerly Argyle Park) Deitophobia and Mortal, among others.
Awesome Voice And Guitar August 8, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Klank (formerly the guitarest for live shows for Circle Of Dust.) Has made a awesome debute with this album. This being his first CD he has combined machine-gun guitar with his low, but melodic voice. His words come pounding out of the song right in your face. Although this CD was put out on a Christian label, there is no "Jesus loves me this I know" stuff in here--Pure industrial-heavy metal at it's best. I have talked to kLank a couple times on AOL messenger a while ago and he sets his goals very high for his fans-and for himself. I LOVED this CD and I love the voice samples he has in his songs-some from Hellraiser and 12 Monkeys put together in a VERY artfull way. I also highly recommend his second album: NUMB. Another triumph by kLaNk. I also have the LP of this CD also put out by Tooth & Nail if you like this CD try looking for that too.
