Gangster Rap w/ some intellegence. September 2, 2008 Jared Wall (Eh Talo, KS) L.A.X. Is a solid album filled w/ hot beats, tight hooks, and a few sick rhymes. Game bounces back huge after a sub-par 'Doctor's Advocate.' Doctor's Advocate had a few hot tracks, most notably 'One Blood' and the Kanye collab. 'Wouldn't Get Far.' But, L.A.X. is head and shoulders above that, i think its even quite a bit better than his first LP 'The Documentary.' GAME is still a 'gangsta rapper' and it shows in his lyrics. I mean he raps about the same things a lot, (Pac, Biggie, LA, NY, Guns, bitches, and more than anything else Kanye) Did anyone else noticed how much he was on Kanye's nuts in this album? And Where is the Kanye track anyway? Overall tho good album. Great 'gangta rap' album, good rap album, ya dig? I say 3 1/2 out of 5 stars Best Tracks: 1.My Life (ft. Lil' Wayne) -- Needs Lil' Wayne verse even tho GAME went off 2.Angel (ft. Common) 3.Bulletproof Diaries (Ft. Raekwon) 4.LAX Files 5.Gentleman's Affair (Ft. Ne-Yo)
Hip Hop's heart condition gets a boost from California September 2, 2008 R. Menendez (Miami, FL) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This year so far may have been the worst year for hip hop as far as "Quality" goes. The losing streak was put to rest when Game's new album "LAX" was released. From the first track with Earl Simmons (DMX) preaching like he would on the intro of one of his own albums, this album set a tone from the get go. This album clearly shows Game's transition from a G-Unit lackey to a bonafide shining light in the dark and dim world of the dying state of hip hop. LAX has a much more mature feel than the first two albums. The Game's "LAX" is definately groomed to be the best Hip Hop/Rap album of the year. It is worth it... Buy it... HARD, HARD, HARD, HARD!!!!! September 2, 2008 T. Porter 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you like gangsta rap, then this is it. I've missed the days when west coast hip hop ruled the world. For so long, it has been dormant with a few artists keeping it alive, but barely. With this entry, The Game has breathed life into what has been a desolate wasteland that is west coast hip hop. I cannot impress upon you how hard this CD is. I love it. Forget what you THOUGHT was gangsta rap. This is it at its finest. Standout Tracks for me are Nice, and Big Dreams, and Spanglish. This CD does not dissapoint!

Hip-Hop Album Of The Year, Period........so far September 16, 2008 The Specialist (Parts Unknown) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Game has finally mastered his ability of showing love for the old school without coming off as d*ck riding. From front to back this album is a banger and classic. His flow is a lot better, but what makes this album is just way better songs. Check it out! Bangers: Angel (oooh weee) Touchdown House Of Pain (Game flips that old NWA Real N_ggas Dont Die beat) Let Us Live (This That Joint) State Of Emergency (Another Top Banger) Letter To The King(Best Nas Collabo in a minute) LAX Files Bulletproof Wallets
