disappointment for sure April 18, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
If you were expecting even a somewhat return to beneath the remains, arise, chaos ad, and roots----you will not like this album. Sanctuary is the only good song. Way too many useless guitar solos. Great disappointment being that early sepultura is legendary. Nailbomb--kill; Cavalera Conspiracy--awful
Cavalera brothers purge out the demons! April 19, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Sepultura was heavy back in the day when both Max & Igor Cavalera were in the group....but Max left after some tension in the band became apparent & Soulfly was born & eventually became even heavier than Sepultura. However, here we are many years later & the Cavalera brothers recently reunited & man it makes you wonder what took them so long to get back together again! Obviously Max & Igor had to work out their problems with each other & their past with Sepultura, but man while you are listening to this CD you can't help but wonder if making this CD was truly therapy for the both of them! This CD is NON-STOP brutality from start to finish & definitely angrier than anything I've heard from Max Cavalera & that's saying a lot because Max is always pissed about something! Buy this CD for some straight forward/heavy/no nonsense metal! Thank God the Cavalera boys are back!
Worth the Wait! March 26, 2008 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
I knew this album was a must-buy the moment that it was announced that the Cavalera brothers would be working together again! The album meets my high expectations and more. Solid from beginning to end, they pour their hearts into this release. Pummeling, brutal metal that keeps you wanting more... Highly recommended.
Makes Me Wanna Get In The Pit! April 2, 2008 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
This CD gets me pumped. Great stuff. I can't wait to hear this live. Has a great thrash/speed/mosh theme to it. Looking forward to the future of the Brothers Cavalera!
Reminds of Soulfly, but the attitude of Roots April 10, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you like Roots era Sepultura, you'll like this one....they really started the whole downtuned groove era with the heavier acts slowing down a bit, however oddly enough bands like Skinlab took the formula and improved on it....the new SkinnedAlive CD from Skinlab is on my must buy list of 2008, and I'm counting down the days until it's 4/29 release.
