In the gothic literary tradition, the narrative follows a female protagonist through her work as a paranormal investigator, whose ultimate goal is indisputable proof of the spirit world. When a dark man begins pursuing her with a claim he is the devil in human form, her sanity begins to slip, and her fractured marriage falls apart, forcing her into a fantasy existence as a means of coping.
